@Fallenangelofthenorth Yes, I agree but saying them on the Internet and them being acceptable in everyday life aren't the same. Clearly there has been pushbike on these councillors.
I do think many people would bring back institutions if it meant that they perceived thd money being saved would benefit them or their children.
Warwick isn't the only council facing these sort of overspend and rather than cutting their cloth on the spending which they legally don't have to make, raise tax or petition the government for a higher higher needs budget it is easier to blame the children and their families.
Some councils are having their debt wiped if they decrease their send budget. See Bury Council for one.
I wonder if they'll remove mental health as an area of need in order to reduce spending on semh schools or start diagnosing learning disability instead of autism for those with profound needs and not diagnose hf autism, in a view to make it harder for parents to clarify need and provision required (some won't question) and keep more children in mainstream.
I know they are already suggesting a set number of schools to choose from (provided by the LA) rather than a setting to meet needs.
