To not wash the inside of my vagina?

Secretname123 · 25/01/2024 10:32

First AIBU so please be nice! There is a huge debate going on on twitter where people are horrified that some women wear tampons in the shower (it seems to be the majority of the many women responding to the tweets who are horrified). They claim it’s unsanitary because then you can’t wash inside your vagina. I thought we weren’t supposed to do this? I’m sure I had this drummed into me as a child. I never have and have never had an infection. Have I been doing it wrong all these years?!

@Jumpingthruhoops awww my feelings.

Your vagina is self proclaimed stinky. I'm just repeating what you have said about your own smelly vagina

Your insult about my character is all of your own doing.

Me thinks you are just upset that we all know (by your own admission) that your vagina is a bit feral

Not at all. My assessment of your personality is your doing. What a nasty individual. Thanks for proving my point. 😘😘

splutter · 28/01/2024 22:17

@Jumpingthruhoops awww you need to try harder if you want to across as clever Petal

Kittybythelighthouse · 28/01/2024 22:26

@Jumpingthruhoops I think everyone here has been pretty clear that they wash their bits front and back. The question is about whether anyone should wash inside the vagina. You said you do because it’s disgusting not to. I want to know why you find it disgusting to not wash inside the vaginal cavity when you apparently don’t wash inside your rectum and get very upset if anyone mentions such an idea. Both of these orifices are inside the body. Make it make sense or else just own up to having an irrational disgust for female genitalia. If you’re consistent you must surely give the rectum a cleaning too, no? If not please explain why/how this is different.

Kittybythelighthouse · 28/01/2024 22:29

@Jumpingthruhoops you’re very committed to being disingenuous. You said that having a continuous period for 7 days would mean you’d die. Those of us with very heavy periods know that we can and do menstruate for 7 days straight and not die BECAUSE IT IS MENSTRUATION NOT BLEEDING OUT FROM THE VASCULAR SYSTEM FFS.

No, I really don't. Your posts suggest you're really not the brightest.

Now stop tagging me or I'll report you.

splutter · 28/01/2024 23:03

@Jumpingthruhoops so will you report yourself for constant tagging of me? Or like with your vagina routine, do you feel you are special and what applies to everyone else doesn't apply to you 😘

porridgeisbae · 28/01/2024 23:06

@splutter She has a magic vag that is not like the other girl's.

Doesn't sound magic in a good way as she says hers smells bad 😬

SomeCatFromJapan · 28/01/2024 23:11

Vaginas don't smell of very much at all on the inside. Not healthy ones anyway.

Absolutely correct!

You clearly haven't read the subsequent posts - particularly about the woman with heavy bleeding who was apparently bullied on here for asking if she should go to hospital. Thankfully she ignored all of them and listened to the few who said she should go to A&E... where a doctor told her if she hadn't come to them she would have DIED! So, you see, you don't know nearly as much as you think you do.

And to your other point... people have definitely twisted things I've said to the nth degree to support their own narrative. I also didn't realise people would take every single thing I've said SO bloody literally. For example:

I've actually said: 'I don't understand why people would shower with a tampon in, only to then take a dirty tampon out of a clean body.'
MN translation: 'I think vaginas are dirty.'

I've also actually said: 'I wouldn't keep a tampon in because I like to wash any orifice (when asked this question!) properly with soap and water.'
MN translation: 'I wash the entire inside of my vaginal canal and must have a colonic too!'

I've actually said: 'Vaginas can smell because of where/what they are'.
MN translation: 'I have a stinky vagina'.

I've actually said: 'I can stop my flow momentarily in order to wash, dry and replace a tampon'.
MN translation: 'You're flat out lying!' (Even though many others have said they can too!).

Do people not understand basic nuance? Or that everyone's experience is different?

Twist things all you want, I draw the line at personal insults though. I will report any I see - either directly to me or about me between others - going forward.

Have a nice evening.

No why would I? You started with the outright insults, I merely responded in a similar fashion, ie, with the personality judgement. But that's based in fact - anyone who makes the nasty remarks you've made to me DOES have a vile personality.

Now I see you're doing the whole 'mean girls' thing with another poster because neither of you have got anything else. And you know it. I'm actually embarrassed for you.

Carry on as you are. I wish you well.

Jumpingthruhoops · 28/01/2024 23:24

splutter · 28/01/2024 20:29

I dunno. She was the one who said her vagina smells 😂

I'm also puzzled at the concern of getting blood on her vagina when removing tampons after a shower. She doesn't seem to realise that blood is consistently in the vagina during a period. Maybe she washes her vagina out with every tampon change?

Sloshing out the blood during a shower doesn't prevent there being blood in there. It just washes out a bit of what is in there which immediately will get replaced by more descending blood and also introduces the risk of bacteria entering the vagina and of course upsetting the whole ph balance.

She seems strangely uncomfortable with bodily functions.

You are literally obssessed! I can't imagine being this interested in how another personal washes. This thread is totally wild!

Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus which is sexually transmitted.

How are you supposed to get clean if you use just water on your vulva as some are suggesting? It sweats, gets covered in discharge, blood and urine. It would stink with just water. You wouldn’t use water on other sweaty body parts.

Definitely don’t use shower gel inside but the vulva is completely different.

A lot of women with eczema and other skin conditions don’t ever wash with soap, especially on sensitive areas like the vulva.

My wife never uses soap of any kind (except shampoo on her hair and soap to wash her hands) and hasn’t for 20 years because of eczema and HS- she washes regularly (shower once or twice a day), wears clean clothes every day and doesn’t smell at all.

. I’ve read a lot of threads on here where women with similar skin conditions don’t use soap.

Jumpingthruhoops · 28/01/2024 23:48

porridgeisbae · 28/01/2024 20:34

I suppose her plan is to put a tampon in really quickly before any blood appears.

Hey ho, she won't believe us so she needs to talk to a Dr. she will believe (if there's anyone she thinks knows more about the science of the human body than her.)

'Hey ho, she won't believe us!' Seriously, how enormous IS your ego? Who even are you?

I have said REPEATEDLY that I have never had any gynae issues, thrush, BV, STIs, cysts, fibroids or anything else for that matter. So what exactly do I need to go to a doctor for?

I know about MY body. That's good enough for me. You can keep listening to others about what's best for yours.

You also keep flip-flopping on your insults... one minute 'I'm admitting I'm stinky', the next I've got 'a magic fanny and think I'm perfect'. Which is it? Surely it can't be both?

I'm also curious to know why you haven't since apologised for condemning what I was saying about 'heavy bleeding' after openly acknowledging the story of the woman who got told by medics that she WOULD HAVE DIED had she not gone to A&E. You were quick enough to come at me with your know-it-all quips - but strangely have said nothing since you've been proved wrong. Interesting...

I'm also genuinely interested to know why my comments have rattled you and others so much. That question hasn't been answered yet. But this is anything but a normal reaction...

paintitblue · 28/01/2024 23:50

Jumpingthruhoops · 25/01/2024 20:38

Maybe it's just me but I wash every orifice thanks.
I prefer to bath rather than shower so, straight away, I'm immersing my entire body in water. I wash my face first, including nostrils and ear holes, the latter of which gets more attention when I wash/rinse my hair.
Then wash my entire body front (yes there!) to back (yes THERE [with a flannel]!) Then rinse.
As I'm drying, I brush my teeth. Can't think of an orifice I've missed, can you?

This thread has been nothing short of eye-opening...

I think you don't understand named body parts.

porridgeisbae · 28/01/2024 23:53

Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus which is sexually transmitted.

About 90% are but not all. I don't believe any products cause cervical cancer, but there was a talc lawsuit in the US (I don't know how people won that one.) Just read and apparently a few samples of talc had a speck of asbestos in them and people blamed it for ovarian cancer and mesothelioma.

Jade was unlucky as she was so young. I mean, now they only do smears age 25+ apparently. She'd already had HPV and three or four smears with abnormal cells by that age.

Namedand · 29/01/2024 00:02

I’ve been using one of these for years. I give mine a high pressure blast twice a day.

To not wash the inside of my vagina?
porridgeisbae · 29/01/2024 00:20

@Namedand Way to go, sister.

I prefer sticking some wire wool on the end of a black and decker power drill. It's been so long, everything has sealed up :)

IncompleteSenten · 29/01/2024 00:29

You mean you don't sit on an autoclave?

Amateurs.

porridgeisbae · 29/01/2024 00:36

@IncompleteSenten I had to google that.

There must be something we could do with centrifugal force :)

chaosmaker · 29/01/2024 02:33

porridgeisbae · 28/01/2024 12:54

eh? No. Are you Jump? Some women's period lasts 7 days for their entire life of having periods. I just worked it out lol and I had it happen 384 times or more. It doesn't mean something's wrong or even that they necessarily bleed more than other women do, just that it's spread out over a longer time.

I had one that lasted a year - in my case due to a partner's cancer and treatment causing stress, that's what I meant... wasn't clear enough. It was very light but constant and made me anaemic. Did not get on with iron tablets.

To the mooncup suggester, I didn't get on with them either.

Boomboomshakeshaketheroom · 29/01/2024 03:45

Oh dear god now the men are posting. I'm out.

splutter · 29/01/2024 07:18

Also @Jumpingthruhoops
Though, should it really suprise me that people who don't wash properly, would be vile on the inside too...? 🤔

Not sure there's much you can do for your stinky personality. 🤷‍♀️

What a nasty individual.

you're really not the brightest

Honey the person being the most insulting here is you. You literally proper your long rambling posts with personal insults. Somehow this has escaped your notice.

You repeatedly threaten to report people who insult you or anyone else yet the repeated personal insults are being thrown about by... you.

Why are people not enjoying your posts? Perhaps because you are being so rude and then getting hopping mad and threatening to report people for doing what you are doing.

Nothing to add to the thread, but this was the advert to me on this page 🤣
