It wasn't supposed to be windy in London tonight.

Is it just my street? no warnings at all, but far stronger wind than Isha two nights ago. More damage already, more noise, more banging. AIBU to be a bit bewildered by all this? We got hit hard by Hank recently, no warning at all, and multiple trees down/roads closed and disruption. What is happening now?

It sounds worse tonight in the Midlands than the other storm, I think we were lucky the other night as it wasn't really that bad. I know there was a Tornado warning even for the other storm (dunno bout this one) did that happen anywhere does anyone know?

Same here, didn’t even really notice the other one there were warnings about.

Last night was awful!

I hope everyone is safe, particularly in Scotland under the actual orange warning. If its this bad here it might be much worse there.

Trampolines flying round everywhere here in Scotland Grin

Sounds worse today in Yorkshire than the last one.

I hope everyone was ok, and not waking up to damaged property. In the end, it was certainly worse than Isha around here, more branches down, more debri in the road, power outages, and the like - thankfully nothing major or life threatening though. I woke up with part of my neighbours fence on my roof, but as he said, don't worry, it wasn't a very important part!

I woke up to a mega loud bang yesterday morning. Only to find part of my porch had come down. Thankfully it's only part of the wood near the guttering that's come down although I think now there is an exposed part so I'm praying it doesn't rain heavily in that direction.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 26/01/2024 05:13

Wow, now it is roaring again!

Igneococcus · 26/01/2024 09:37

We have winds in the mid 40s forecast from about 2pm until tomorrow morning here in West coast Scotland. It must have rained so much overnight (I slept right through it) that the local FB sites are full of puddle and flood warnings.

It was definitely worse than Isha here. And thankfully my roof survived. Even more so thankfully since the god awful clatter I heard turned out to be the neighbours sky dish snapping off her chimney and pelting the roof on the way to her garden. She's just thankful it went into the back and not down the front onto her or the other neighbours car!
