To wonder what the BBC are doing?

BBC cut Sue Barker etc from a question of sport.
Nobody watched so they axed it.
They have now axed the man who used to present Homes under the Hammer in the mornings and replaced him with Owain the weatherman.
They made loads of cuts to local radio. They axed peoples favourite presenters and upset them all. They failed to understand local radio and it's listeners. They didn't do any consultations before they cut presenters and shows etc.
It's supposed to be our BBC isn't it?

If only this applied to Gary Lineker

Gary's a brilliant presenter though. Love him on MOTD. I'm gutted Ian wright has retired

Ahh phew. Just Tommy Walsh 😂😂

He looked ill imho.

Nicely done. He is ill.

No tv presenter is entitled to a job for life. Sue Barker had the gig for an extremely long time.

Every time I hear these people who’ve had decades long shows complain about being axed, I roll my eyes. Give other people a chance to make some money and get some fame.

I’ll save my campaigning for genuine victims of unfair dismissal.

redalex261 · 18/03/2024 20:55

Owain the weatherman who plays the drums? On Homes Under the Hammer? Bit of an odd casting decision. Oh well. Can’t stand the programme anyway. Should call it Buy-to-Let Landlords. Tedious.

DH was gutted when Ken Bruce left R2, but he couldn't get Greatest Hits Radio, and has now got used to Vernon.

Our local commercial radio station has been bought out by Bauer Media and is switching to Greatest Hits Radio at the end of the month. DH hasn't stopped moaning since they announced it! (he switches between R2 and the local station depending who's on).

One thing I will say about the BBC is that they gave us Ghosts, probably one of the best things I've seen on TV in a long time.

No she didn’t, she was sacked

Indeed, and replaced with Paddy McGuiness or whatever his name is. Nail in coffin for a show loved for decades (okay by some, but it was clearly popular).

Sue sacked.

I wish they’d get rid of Steve Wright! I thought he’d retired (from his afternoon show) but he’s cropped up again on Saturdays pick of the pops. Very annoying!

Hrft

But surely you're having a twisted giggle?

JanglingJack · 18/03/2024 21:25

Casualty's Charlie was once the highest paid actor on the BBC 400K a year.

Holby was axed, Casualty stopped broadcasting weekly, months of breaks...
Derek Thompson was none too happy.

He gets given the shittest exit ever!

He deserved more than that shite in my eyes.
