I have got this constant background level of anger at the moment. Unfortunately I can't quite work out what's causing it. But it's making me into a grumpy and reactive parent that I just don't want to be.

For background, kids are mostly lovely (if somewhat hard work), DH is not completely useless and finances aren't a nightmare just now.

What's making you angry at the moment? Perhaps I can get to the bottom of it myself and stop being such a cranky arse!

The 6lb I've put on between November and now that makes my clothes too tight. The weather that means I can't get motivated to do the excercise I need to shift it. My weak will that makes me lack of motivation to go out anyway as I know it lifts my mood. My low mood that means I comfort eat to cheer myself up. Full of rage that I'm living with a boyfriend in a house he inherited and won't change. There are sharny old horrible owls and vile sentimental ornaments EVERYWHERE and the colours are vile and everything is 50 years old, the carpets the decor EVERYTHING.
and I am not allowed to change a thing.

I'd have to leave. My surroundings have a huge impact on my mental well being and I couldn't cope with that, no matter how much I loved someone.

That I’m highly qualified but struggling to find a job!!! So sick of applying and endlessly waiting for an interview! And anything and everything that can go wrong is! Eg. My laptop crashed and is not working. My youngest DC has a rash and needs to see a doc tmrw. Honestly I can’t catch a break! 🤦🏽‍♀️

The terrible, terrible state of the nhs, illustrated this last week through some local stories.

Oh the usual. Partner sitting on arse all day, doesn't have to do school run or pick up or get DD ready for bed, listen to reading, play with toys, bath her and get uniform ready for the next day.

Sleeping on sofa due to snoring.

Signing up to bloody 5k a day and having no time to run except at 10pm when it's dark and cold and storm Isha out there.

Hearing people on the radio today talking about kids having to keep their coats and gloves on to stay warm in school, and a head teacher talking about having to evacuate his school as raw sewage was coming up through the toilet floors. I know funding is always going to be a challenge, but don't the people who have been in power for more than a decade ever stop to think "maybe we haven't done as well at running the country as we should have?"

BananaPalm · 23/01/2024 13:25

My coworker who keeps on passing the work she should be doing onto us. And then the people who don't react and are being overly polite about it all.

Oh, and the person who is just microwaving fish in the office kitchen! 🤢

Right now I am bloody livid that I have just had the hospital appointment I had scheduled for 9am tomorrow cancelled. It's over 100 miles from home so I had managed to get my clinic appointment and physio booked for the same day and DH has booked his last remaining day's annual leave of this leave year to take me. And they only phoned me yesterday to confirm that I could still come. Now they want me to come on Monday instead, like that's easy to sort out at the drop of a hat!
Oh, and the haggis I had in my Tesco order for my planned Burns Supper was unavailable with no substitute so I guess it's just the tatties and neeps then. And it's pissing it down and blowing a gale here again.
Bah humbug. I think I might go back to bed.

I am a shallow and petty person so I am currently irritated that someone I don't click with has acknowledged all replies to her earlier question on a WhatsApp chat except mine.

Having to do all the mental load! Asked H to sort something out ages ago, he hasn’t and asked again. Get the standard reply, oh I don’t know how to do that. So I have to sort it again. And you know, just work out how to do it.

i had a silent scream as he’s WFH today. FFS.
