Do I be honest with friend?

Friend hasn’t registered their baby yet and they decided to call him Bailey.

the grandma and their other child who is a lot older have already said they hate the name. To be honest I don’t like it as well they asked my view and just said not sure. Taken them four weeks to go with any name.

I know it’s a parents choice do I say anything

Not a nice band imo but at least it’s an actual recognised name. I’ve heard much worse.

Mischance · 16/01/2024 22:32

She is obviously having doubts bout it or she would not have delayed registering nor asked your opinion. If someone asks for an opinion all you can do is give it. If she does not ask again, then zip the lip.

For what it's worth, I would have had to answer that I did not like it. But each to his/her own.

TheOccupier · 16/01/2024 22:38

I wouldn't say anything. Unless their last name is also Bailey?

TheGoogleMum · 16/01/2024 22:43

I actually quite like Bailey

echt · 16/01/2024 22:46

It's a dog's name, but then what isn't these days?

Say nothing unless asked directly. But don't say it's a dog's name Wink

Bailey is nice! If they had decided to call him Turnip it still wouldn’t be any of your business.

No, it really would be everyone's business if they'd decided to call him Turnip! Grin But Bailey is fine.

Far better than Nat, short for? Nope, not Natalie or Nathaniel, but for Natterjack, a type of toad! Bailey in my head is a fluffapoo, but still beats being named after a toad!
