Proper love song! It's full of real things, actions, thoughts, etc. That's what makes it Pulp but the lyrics make it a love song. ❤️ Aah to all those who had it as their first dance!

Jarvis is a genius, absolutely love Pulp. Still gutted that I missed seeing them on their recent tour.

@DeadButDelicious I’d like to have Jarvis on one side and Alan Rickman on the other. All they’d have to do is talk.

During the last song at the tour gig I went to last summer he did the usual intro of all the band members and finished with "and my name is Jarvis...and I was born to perform" before launching straight back into the finale of Common People, and I swear the entire audience swooned.

I always took the 'I wrote this song two hours before we met...' bit as Jarvis's lyrical meanderings, rather than what PP have said about him 'settling'. There's something about the way the whole song is put together that just makes my heart soar.
FEELING CALLED LOVE has some amazing lyrics (as quoted above). And I love 'it's not all chocolate boxes and roses. It's dirtier than that'. The right balance of 'I love you and I also fancy the pants off you'.

Lord have mercy that line does things to me 😂😂. I also love Acrylic Afternoons, he can do anything he likes on that pink quilted eiderdown 😂😂. There is something so incredibly sexy about that man.

Hey I found this thread because I'm planning our wedding service and this is on my list! Also 'our' song.

Wondering if any of you included it would share what other songs / readings you used? I'm asking because we are definitely more realist than romantic and a lot of suggestions are very saccharine in my opinion :-) I half wish I was doing a religious service so I wouldn't have to make the decisions 😂
