About considering buying a Peloton bike?

So I think we can afford it (I'll do some maths in the next hour of so) BUT I've never done spinning. I'm a runner but a) the peloton tread is super expensive b) I do struggle to find the time to go and run 10k
So I'm looking for something I can do in bursts of 10-20 between meetings

Love my peloton bike - picked it up for £500 second hand from a guy who was moving back to NY and shipping was too expensive. I think the range of classes is great and tend to spin for 30 mins and add on some strength/yoga afterwards. Like a PP I also have a cycling husband who wasn’t very keen on the idea but has been totally converted to HIIT sessions that he is happy to do through the winter to keep him fit for outdoor cycling when weather improves and longer days return.

Having said all that, if it’s the tread you want, I would first rent a normal treadmill and use the free/£12p/m peloton app and see how you like the classes/if you think it’s worth the investment to have the interactive bit by buying the tread.

Can't you just buy a bike that actually moves you from a to b?
I admit to being completely flummoxed by the whole concept of riding a stationary bike in front of other people and a person telling you to pedal faster
Why is it so impossible to get outside and cycle?

Can you seriously not understand why people in cold, dark, seriously wet UK wouldn't prefer to do structured exercise that doesn't risk their lives every time they try to ride outside?

I love love LOVE my peloton and I'm so glad I invested in it.

I bought it after I had my third child and couldn't ever find the time/inclination to get out and exercise or go to the gym.

I use it 3 - 4x a week for 20 - 30 minutes at a time because that's all I can commit to. I use it because although I'm active, I wouldn't get any HIIT type workouts without it. It's great for my mental health as well and although I obviously won't hit peak fitness using it as I do, it's helped me tone up and feel fitter.

I was so sceptical before I bought one but can honestly say that it's just fantastic.

My neighbour had one delivered yesterday in a big branded transit. They were there several hours setting it up, if you don't mind the whole street knowing then go ahead, anythung but discrete. I saw a thread in America and they can't give them away.

Why would you need to keep it a secret? Do you ask your Tesco delivery to come in an unbranded van? So weird!

Have a look at Echelon - I love mine. Very similar but cheaper. I knew I loved spin classes when I got it though, perhaps try a couple first?
