To be still sat in my jammies

LittleMonks11 · 30/12/2023 11:59

When I have 7 family coming for Christmas get together at 3pm?

Is it too early to crack open the Baileys?

DH is hoovering and dusting downstairs.

I have a cat on my lap.

Looking forward to seeing everyone but also would like to spend the day in my jammies.

Happy Twixmas!

I just put mine back on! Did pop out and waiting for a workman to come who is not now coming so got back in to them after a shower. Might be going to the local for a drink tinigjt with DH so I have to get changed. Enjoy your day.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 30/12/2023 13:23

I love just chilling in my pyjamas, but couldn't do it for a whole day unless I was unwell..

In your case, you need to get your butt moving ready for guests..........but not till the cat moves. Its illegal to move if you have a cat on you.

DuplicateUserName · 30/12/2023 13:23

If I was hoovering and dusting while my DH was lazing around upstairs with the cat, I'd cut the internet off (amongst other things!) Wink

ChristmasTreeCookies · 30/12/2023 13:28

I think if I had guests coming around I would get dressed.
I do lounge in my pajamas but only when I'm not leaving the house or seeing anyone.

dontwannbeouting · 30/12/2023 13:31

@Scalottia how incredibly dull it would be to be an adult who only ever uses words that make you feel mature.

LittleMonks11 · 30/12/2023 13:48

Well we're ready. I'm showered, hair washed but need to change out of my 'workwear' and 'put my face on'.

I have never spent all day in my 'jammies' for the record! Apart from being poorly. But there's nothing wrong with it if it's what you fancy.

The cats have moved to a different bed. Slobs.

Have a great day everyone whatever attire you're in 🎄

I hope the term “twixmas” dies a slow death 😂

Get dressed 😉

I wish similar for the word ‘jammies’.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 30/12/2023 13:58

I've got up, had a shower and...put my PJs back on. I was going to load the car up after breakfast and go for a mooch somewhere but, my 3 year old woke 33 times last night. I am knackered and unenthusiastic for a day in the drizzle, I can't be arsed with anything today especially not all the additional stresses that come with taking out a child with complex disabilities (and that has nothing to do with him, it is to do with the way society treats him). So, we are staying home and warm and watching crap TV.

MorningFresh · 30/12/2023 13:59

Am still in pyjamas plus jumper but still have a horrible cough and cold going on so feel entitled. 😞 Also, now really want a Twix (for medicinal reasons).

I am dressed now but that is fairly recent- just eating a brunch of truffles and choccy biscuits

Steady - someone will be along in a sec saying they wished the term 'choccie biscuits' would die a death in 2024 🤪 enjoy 🍪

I cant do it, I wish I could but I have to have a shower and put clean clothes on as soon as I've had a coffee. Admittedly today it's just leggings and a sweatshirt as all I'm doing is taking the Christmas decorations down, cleaning, dog walking and sorting my horse, but I can't sit in my Pyjamas even when I'm poorly!

rc22 · 30/12/2023 14:27

I spent all day yesterday in pyjamas and dressing gown. Got showered at about 7pm and put some clean yoga pants, t-shirt and hoodie on. I had an appointment for a manicure at 10am this morning and got up in a mood because I would have to get dressed. Actually enjoyed the manicure and I'm having a lovely afternoon in front of the fire properly dressed with lovely nails!!

blackpanth · 30/12/2023 14:34

I'm still in my jarnies. Have been in them all week. Got a good excuse gave birth Xmas eve 💁🏻‍♀️

I've barely been dressed all Christmas. But then I'm just a few weeks post major surgery so I feel entitled to slob around!

tadpolelove · 30/12/2023 14:42

I'm still in mine, my mil came at 10:30am to collect the kids I've packed a suitcase and cleaned up. I'll get dressed soon, I need to peel the veg dh has had a gammon cooking all day in the slow cooker.

backtowinter · 30/12/2023 14:45

I'm not going out as we have snow, so I'm still in mine

AlwaysGinPlease · 30/12/2023 14:46

To those moaning about the use of Twixmas and Jammies, I'm sure there are words you use that other people don't like. Stop spoiling the thread with the pettiness.
