To have wanted to poke the man who said "Did you know your child has no socks, shoes or trousers on?" with a very sharp stick?

Ds is a stripper - he also seem to be in training for a career as an escapologist. i know i put shoes and socks and trousers on him before we left the house. i spent £28 on his new shoes ffs - i'm not going to just leave them at home am i?

Anyway, ds wriggles out of the foot muff on his buggy, kicks his shoes and socks off and then somehow gets out of his jeans. HOW???!!!! He has a strap between his legs - i have no idea how he gets his trousers off.

So he sits in his buggy, teeth chattering, lips turning blue, grinning triumphantly. Elderly gentleman comes up and says "Did you know your child has no socks, shoes or trousers on?"

grr

dinny · 16/03/2008 19:51

liahgen · 16/03/2008 19:53

small children and clothes do not mix. can only sympathise, i have a almost 3 yr dd who is same, (although draws line at trousers)

Had health visitor and student discussing her nudity once in my home.

it is the accompanying withering look they give you, as they gaze on shoeless wee un

TheJen · 16/03/2008 19:54

THat's hilarious, you DS sounds very quirky. THough the old man should be put in a cupboard with all the other helpful people who come up to you when your child is screaming in public and say things like... 'ooh he sounds tired/hungry' etc etc sometimes I feel like shouting 'I KNOW... but I can't force him to sleep and I need to buy milk!

chickytwotimes · 16/03/2008 19:55

I keep a sharp stick with me at all times for this reason...

theUrbanDryegg · 16/03/2008 19:56

if only i had responded with a fabulously sarky comment but no, i just mumbled something inane and wandered off.

chickytwotimes · 16/03/2008 19:58

yes. I also carry a shitey stick for beating off admiring men. (in my dreams)

funnyhaha · 16/03/2008 19:58

Next time just look with mystification at ds and say 'I'm SURE I came out with the dog..."

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 16/03/2008 20:00

Urban, tell me you didn't lose the £28 shoes?!

theUrbanDryegg · 16/03/2008 20:02

Meridians ds once stripped off at the top of the slide in softplay, chucked all his clothes down, then realised he had to come down nude I think that experience cured him

ChocolateSquonkyEggs · 16/03/2008 20:07

dd2 used to do this.

Once, we were in the car park at Morrisons, I was concentrating on strapping ds into his car seat, I had her between my legs, so I could feel her, but not actually see her. Looked down at her and she was completely naked!

She used to be able to get trousers and nappy off when fully strapped into a five point car seat

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 16/03/2008 20:10

wow, yay for the houdini babies

scottishmummy · 16/03/2008 20:11

DS is still like this and he is gone 3. His latest trick is dispensing with his socks and shoes (hasn't managed trousers yet), whilst is the seat on the back of my bicycle on the way to nursery, meaning I have to double back on myself to retrieve said objects from the road!

motherinferior · 16/03/2008 20:31

I believe Marina's daughter used to try and take her clothes off in church.

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 16/03/2008 21:52
