To have wanted to poke the man who said "Did you know your child has no socks, shoes or trousers on?" with a very sharp stick?

Ds is a stripper - he also seem to be in training for a career as an escapologist. i know i put shoes and socks and trousers on him before we left the house. i spent £28 on his new shoes ffs - i'm not going to just leave them at home am i?

Anyway, ds wriggles out of the foot muff on his buggy, kicks his shoes and socks off and then somehow gets out of his jeans. HOW???!!!! He has a strap between his legs - i have no idea how he gets his trousers off.

So he sits in his buggy, teeth chattering, lips turning blue, grinning triumphantly. Elderly gentleman comes up and says "Did you know your child has no socks, shoes or trousers on?"

grr

Nice of the old man, bless him. He'd probably have worried all day if he hadn't said anything to you!

Hedgewitch's first comment reminded me of the time I was on my way to pick up DS from nursery a couple of years ago, pushing the empty pushchair (the walk back home was up a very steep hill), and a very nice man stopped me and said "do you know there is no baby in your pushchair?"... and I pretended to be shocked and said 'oh no!!' and OMG, you should have seen his face!!!! It was a picture. Of course, he didn't find it quite as funny as I did. He laughed a bit when I explained I was joking and why I was pushing an empty pushchair, but not as much as I still do every time I remember it!!

In December I took my ds(4) and dd (3) to Matalan with me. I looked up from choosing cards (to realise that they had both taken all of their clothes off and were bouncing on a pile of rugs in full view of the queues at the checkout.

bonniefromboot · 16/03/2008 22:22

my ds is the same always takes of shoes and socks (never trousers yet) i feel like walking round town shouting "go on then, phone childline you interfering judgemental bastards and after you've done that you come back and put his shoes and socks back on for the 50th time, now f*ck off"

bonniefromboot · 16/03/2008 22:24

and then as an afterthought as they disappear over the horizon,
"you still on the phone? make sure you mention the fact that i am sick to death of putting them back on him, so not bothering any more!!!!!!!"

why is it always the old ones?

Jackstini · 16/03/2008 22:54

So glad to read this and know it is not just dd.
At the moment she is prone to whipping off everything below the waist and then running around shouting bum, bum! (sounding strangely like an odd basil brush...)

TheAntiFlounce · 16/03/2008 22:55

Oh ZK FANTASTIC that made me really laugh!

My sister was like this (as a child, obviously...). Neighbours used to ring the doorbell to point out she'd left all her clothes under the lamp-post again... My mother says they were always very neatly folded, as well.

LOL ... Frizbe is right.. DS did take all his clothes off at soft play.. what she dosent mention is that he also got her DD1 to take her shirt off as well.

it went soemthing like this.

frizbe's DD1 wandering aroudn without her shirt
Me and frizbe: "Where is your shirt?"
frizbe's DD: "Up there." quickly followed by "H did it too."
me: "where is H?"
frizbe's DD:"Up there." pointing to the top of the play frame.
me shouting to the top of the play frame. "H what are you doing? where are your clothes."
H: "Hello mummy. Da da da da" he shouts waveing and dancing.
me: " Where are your clothes."
H standing at the top of the slide. "Down there at the bottom." at this time all the parents are looking and smirking.
me: "Get down here." so he tires to get down the wiggly slide and only gets halfway.
H: "Mummy I'm stuck." cue the laughter of all the other parents me standing there mortified and unable to climb the slide as I have tights on and not socks. eventually got him down and had to send a little boy down the slide to retrive H's socks.
me while getting him dressed again. "What were you doing."
H:"getting changed into my knights costume."
me: "But we are at soft play not home where your costume is.
H: "I know I was tending."

sigh

another nudist kid here!
thankfully he doesn't usually strip off when we;re out. (except for that one time when he came out of the softplay, handed me his trousers and walk back in)
i was thinking of trying the vests with poppers again until he was walking around starkers but with his shirt pulled down like a skirt (neck hole around his waist) and realized that there was no point as he's just pull it down.
