Same here. Attention seeking fuckers

Thank you @HappiestSleeping it looks a really snuggly bed, bet mine would love that! I'll have a look at them 😊

You're very welcome. I think the one I have is the charcoal softie. The only thing I would say is that the cover isn't removable, however I take the whole thing to the launderette and it goes in their large machine. In between, I use a steamer and a carpet cleaner with an upholstery attachment.

Totally need banning.

Bad for air quality, dangerous, used as explosives towards first responders, terrible for pets, kill horses and awful for people with asd, dementia and ptsd.

I have no idea why people defend their right to hear loud bangs and a few sparks so vehemently.

Thank you. Exactly all of this, plus pollutes the environment with burnt pieces of plastic. I can't understand why they're still not banned.

mumda · 26/12/2023 00:19

Here too. Thought I was imagining it until I went to the back of the house and could hear them properly.
Arses. What a waste of money.

Fluffyfluffkins · 26/12/2023 00:23

penjil · 25/12/2023 20:02

Well, people can buy them and light them whenever they wish.
That is what living in a free country is about, whether you like it or not.

Erm, how about our freedom to enjoy our main religious holiday in peace?

There's also the small matter of the law.

The law says you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.
You must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for:

  • Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight
  • New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am
Goodlard · 26/12/2023 00:27

@Fluffyfluffkins who said the fireworks were set off after 11pm...... so where was the law broken?

They're also used to celebrate lots of religious festivals.

🧨 🎆

Doingtheboxerbeat · 25/12/2023 22:14

It will be birthday's next, then christenings and heaven forbid, funerals - in fact I think where I live it probably does already 🙄.
Just ban the fuckers already.

I know people that have sent their loved ones ashes up in a firework, I think that's great!

They have been here last Christmas and yet again this Christmas plus random times on the regular long before and long after November 5th.

I don't think peoples' urges to see momentary bright colours in the sky with loud bangs trumps the welfare of animals, war veterans with PTSD, and the list of others who suffer due to the environment-polluting shite.

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 00:40

@Fluffyfluffkins but as I said previously no one said they'd broken the law by having fireworks after 11pm today!

You may not like the law, but if people are living within it, that's life 🤷‍♀️.

If you want to petition for fireworks laws to be changed, feel free, but up until then, people are free to have fireworks!

Atre · 26/12/2023 00:46

Bah. I'm going to start a PTSD Survivors For Fireworks pressure group to try and put the lid on these co-opting ninnies who keep dragging us into this squabble.

Ah, sorry. By "They have been here last Christmas and yet again this Christmas" I should have clarified that I meant that fireworks have been set off well after 11pm around here , in this part of the country, each time.

I've heard them around midnight, 1am and 2am on a during the year . I wonder who thinks it's fine to set off bangers around 2am on a Monday. . 🤔

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 00:55

@Fluffyfluffkinsoh course you did..... 🤔

I've signed those petitions for over 20 years ("Ban The Bang" etc).
I wonder if those firework lovers knew the damage that fireworks do they'd reconsider their position.

Sandrine1982 · 26/12/2023 00:58

I'm going awy fromthis friggin maddes

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 00:59

@Fluffyfluffkins clearly not enough people feel like you then!

Because all the petitions you've signed have made no difference!

Some folk get just a tad traumatised by war, combat etc. #
Shell-shock is still a thing.

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 01:02

@Fluffyfluffkins people get traumatised by all sorts of things!

@Fluffyfluffkinsoh course you did..... 🤔

It's true. I live in a densely populated area ....some being very dense...

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 01:05

@Fluffyfluffkins you had your noticed that your petitions are futile?

Really?

How odd!

Goodlard · 26/12/2023 01:06

@Fluffyfluffkins really? You believe that people that alike fireworks are all dense.....

You think setting off fireworks in the early hours is not dense??

DramaAlpaca · 26/12/2023 01:52

Our stupid neighbours behind us started setting fireworks off at 11.30pm, fgs. Twats. My poor dog was shaking with fear, he hates them.

It's particularly twatty because fireworks are actually illegal here in Ireland, unless you have a licence.
