Whether it is a big one or an inexpensive one... I like:

  • Stationary from muji (have to buy in-person... love the heavenly smell and music in the stores.... and the creamy high quality paper and lovely gliding pens!)
  • Blood oranges when they are in season
  • Perello olives as DP loves them
  • Sourdough with the gummy texture from a naice bakery
  • Really big pants that you can pull up to your belly button.... love putting a new pair on
  • Big bit of white fish from the fishmonger
  • If I feel out of sorts a pastry - even a pale bendy one from Tescos - is very nice
  • Toenail polish that I will use exactly once when in big sainsburies
  • Mystery biscuits from lidl middle aisle
  • Impractical top with flouncy sleeves from upmarket independent shop... then spend week kicking myself for being extravagant ...

myusernamewastakenbyme · 23/12/2023 09:56

Avocado's...houseplant or gin.

Baldieheid · 23/12/2023 09:59

Cured meats and smoked cheeses. Unnecessary and expensive but oh so tasty.
Big bars of Nesti Dante soap when I make it to TK Maxx.
Tesco dark chocolate digestives. OH and I can polish off a packet in 2 days so we limit our access.
A new sketchpad.
Lunch out. Cafe, pub, nothing fancy but such a treat.

ActuallyChristmas · 23/12/2023 10:04

This time of year - Lebkuchen

M and S treats - salted cashews/chilli rice cracker snacks

Local market treat - red velvet cake slice from the bakery stall

Summer/healthy - psisalis fruit

ToffeePennie · 23/12/2023 10:15

For me it’s Coca Cola (cans so I can’t drink a whole bottle in one go) salt and vinegar Pringles that I don’t have to share with the kids, a cuppa from Starbucks and a chocolate caramel shortbread.
for me it’s “branded” stuff, because we never normally get the decent stuff (tight budget)

ToffeePennie · 23/12/2023 10:16

Oh and a decent jacket spud from a rough old bloke in the town centre with a Brummie accent and gold teeth. The BEST jackets ever, I can eat them with just a pinch of salt and pepper and some butter, but cheese and beans is best!

justaboutdonenow · 23/12/2023 10:29

New plants/seeds/bulbs for the garden
Lush stuff, especially Snow Fairy & anything from their rose scented range
Toblerone
Twinings hot chocolate powder

MerryMidwinter · 23/12/2023 10:46

It’s a Gavin and Stacey reference but whatever floats your boat 😂

MerryMidwinter · 23/12/2023 10:47

The above refers to ‘bath shit’ - I used the reply button but it doesn’t seem to link to the original post 🤔

Somatosensational · 23/12/2023 11:01

@MerryMidwinter that’s a relief!

For me it’s a four-pack of Waitrose yum yums (eaten two at a time) and Fevertree cola.

A shit in the bath once in a blue moon is a very fine treat indeed.

😅

PurpleChrayne · 23/12/2023 11:32

Challah from the deli instead of baking my own. I can never get mine to be as fluffy as shop-bought.

A new mug to suit one of my particular cups of tea of the day (large and thick for breakfast, smaller and made of china for the afternoon, etc.)

A cheap new fountain pen from eBay.

A daft plastic thing for DD from those dispenser machines. My mum never allowed me to have them so I'm indulging my inner child as much as treating DD!

sunights · 23/12/2023 11:37

A clever and funny audiobook.
So I have something indulgent in the background while I clean or clutter clear... something which doesn't add to the clutter or my waistline!

ThinWomansBrain · 23/12/2023 15:08

going out for a leisurely breakfast

D20 · 23/12/2023 18:31

Chip butty!

Gotosleepnow2023 · 23/12/2023 18:39

Cigarettes and alcohol 🤤

Errolwasahero · 23/12/2023 18:46

@Dinkydoo17 it’s supposed to be about what you treat yourself to; go on, you can, we said!

mine are old cd’s off eBay, new socks and dry roasted peanuts. To go with the (essential) whisky. (Just the peanuts, obv.)

Ohhh. I see. 😃Well in that case a coconut latte from Nero, a big candle, a bottle of Black Cow vodka and fresh new running socks 😍

Witchbitch20 · 23/12/2023 19:11

Moleskin diary
Perello olives
A scented candle
A new bottle of ink

SqueezyMcJingles · 23/12/2023 19:17

Lovely notebooks with pretty, hard back covers, with a hammered spine, and with feint lined paper that is fountain pen friendly.

Chocolate.

Ink.

mizu · 23/12/2023 19:27

Montezuma giant chocolate buttons - a pack of dark and a pack of milk so I can eat them together. This used to be a real treat but is becoming the norm recently!

Nice bars of soap.

Browsing a bookshop knowing I can buy a book - doesn't happen very often but perhaps if I ate fewer chocolate buttons.......

Solo cinema trips.

Errolwasahero · 23/12/2023 19:32

Excellent choices.

Errolwasahero · 23/12/2023 19:33

Argh that was to @Dinkydoo17

New bedding! I never have a lot of me cash but if I do I like new bedding. Got a cash gift from my boss yesterday. Went straight to Dunelm and bought a duvet cover I’d had my eye on. It cost more than if usually pay but I LOVE IT!! 😀

Oh I love that bedding great taste
