listen ere you lot, my DD asked for her first pair of ballet shoes this week - i have spent two fecking years encouraging an interest in thomas the tank and cars, gardening and general non girlie stuff, but it seems her genes are more powerful - so i know its only a matter of time

paddingtonbear1 · 15/03/2008 22:43

nkf it is on very very often. If you have cable/sky put the Nick channels on and you will see it very soon!!

unknownrebelbang · 15/03/2008 22:43

Another product/name that has completely passed me by.

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:43

Are they fitted properly?

Monkeybird · 15/03/2008 22:44

Which marketing genius dreamed up the name? Lelli Kelli? FFS. It's either horribly American or it's more of the EuroInvasion. No, I'm not some xenophobe, I just object to little blonde girls with perms using strange Euro vocabulary and smiling inanely like they're in training for airhostessry, which they doubtless are. 'Just a little Tschuh'? What the fuck's a little tschuh? None of us know you morons.

Do I need to get out more?

dizzychixies · 15/03/2008 22:44

heads up for those who find it makes them nauseaous - the following is a link for NKF to see the shoes, not the advert but those who are of a sensitive nature are advised not to click on it for their own health

here endeth the public health announcement

shoes

paddingtonbear my dd1 is really hard on shoes and her last ones lasted ages, I wouldn't buy them again if they didn't. she alternates between those and crocs in the summer (am really going to get shot down in flames now by the shoe police)

dizzychixies · 15/03/2008 22:45

the adverts are horrible I agree but the shoes are not

I find they are well fitting but them I take the kids to a great wee independent shoe shop who don't let you buy shoes that aren't

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:47

That link leads to a pair of silver and pink canvas boots. Mmm.

They are just like those Clarke Doodles in style. It's just the patterns are so OTT. And if they are fitted properly - and somebody said they are - then what could be nicer?

Ineedacreamegg · 15/03/2008 22:48

DD is desperate for a pair but thankfully nobody this far north stocked them until Jones the Bootmaker opened this year.
She doesn't care about the lipstick she wants the sparkle. DH keeps saying no way but betya next week when he gets home he buys her a pair. Not my cup of tea but I was the one that said gotta let her choose her own style.
Having said that she is as likely to choose combats and trainers.

Lulumama · 15/03/2008 22:49

fill yer boots NKF!!

Monkeybird · 15/03/2008 22:49

You're all serious aren't you? Some of you actually like the shoes? I can see I'm not going to be wanted here...

dizzychixies · 15/03/2008 22:50

mine wears hers with her combats !! she is soooo not a girly girl but loves these and why not?

Lulumama · 15/03/2008 22:50

i like them , i buy them

so what??

as i said before,chacun a son gout!

they are just shooooooooooooes!

unknownrebelbang · 15/03/2008 22:51

I think the shoes are cute.

Just not the price.

Thankfully I've got three boys who defo would not want them.

dizzychixies · 15/03/2008 22:51

pmsl monkeybird am not saying I would wear them myself but I cannot understand why people are causing such an uproar about wee girls wanting something sparkly/glittery? its not an unheard concept now is it?

its the advert thats a pile of pap - the shoes are well made, well fitting and last well

Lulumama · 15/03/2008 22:52

and you can machine wash them...

paddingtonbear1 · 15/03/2008 22:52

I wouldn't wear crocs myself but dd looks really cute in hers, they are great for kids!

At least you can wash the Lelli Kellys, but the patterns are a bit OTT.. dd would probably like them though she is into sparkly things.

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:53

What's not to like?

dizzychixies · 15/03/2008 22:55

shall we start a support thread for mum's who have to live with the shame of thinking its alright for their kid to have sensible but sparkly shoes?!?

agree with the cute crocs too paddington I bought a pair too but they're just horrendous looking in a size 8 - purely for inhouse wear only!!!

crocs have brought out some nice new wee shoes this year too

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:56

I feel no shame.

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:56

Except that I haven't seen the ad.

Lulumama · 15/03/2008 22:57

don;t worry about the ad just look at the link i psoted!

DontCallMeBaby · 15/03/2008 22:58

Online friend says they look like a fairy has vomited on them. A compliment, apparently, she likes them.

DD nearly got a pair last year, they were black suede with fairy vom on, and were actually very nice. Didn't fit, so got Clarks AND the 'make-up mobile' from the extremely lovely Jones assistant.

nkf · 15/03/2008 22:58

I did. I'm going it to show my daughter tomorrow.

tinylady · 15/03/2008 22:59

I don't know what all the fuss is about
