I did but I've swapped to an electric heat pad which I love
When my endo pain is really bad I have the electric heat pad on my back and the cats heated gel disc on my stomach Grin

Yes I do and have a cover. It's very warm. It would burn me without a cover.

I have fluffy and …. An Actual sheepskin covered ones.

No I didn’t think through the washing of sheepskin. It is very insulated though.

Happytoeatchips · 16/12/2023 22:40

Yes I love it and its fluffy cover

As a kid I remember having a stone hot water bottle, it was bloody roasting.

janfebmarchapril · 16/12/2023 22:46

For the expiry the should be changed every 2/3 years. The newer bottles have this which shows when it was made. The petals are the months and the groves inside are the weeks (I think) so this was made 2nd week of April 2023. Something I recently found out and then replaced my old ones as it didn't have this flower so was very old

I love them without a cover. I like to feel them scalding hot but, I did burn myself very badly a few weeks ago, when I feel asleep with it on my stomach. I had a large blister and it took a long time to heal so I am more careful now.

RandomQuestionOfTheDay · 16/12/2023 22:54

Good god use the cover!!!!!! My housemate had a hole in the cover and slept through it burning her. Skin graft.

catscalledbeanz · 16/12/2023 22:56

My father got badly burned by an uncovered water bottle. He hadn't noticed it and just felt toasty but the next day the blistering came up and the scar left on his foot looks like a chunk had been bitten from it.

I still like a hot water bottle but it's definitely in a cover and I move it about periodically

Yes, it’s a pink and blue unicorn and it’s called Princess Dave.
hardly use it though

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 16/12/2023 23:38

I love a hot water bottle (or two), but have never used a cover in my life. I want them to be hot.

Merryoldgoat · 16/12/2023 23:40

Yes and it has a crocheted cover that I made myself.

Ooh! Mine hasn't got that although I bought it about a year ago. I aim to change them annually now after having had a few leaks, one of which scalded the back of my ankle.

ImTheGoat · 17/12/2023 20:20

Have you got a rechargeable one, @Itisyourturntowashthebath ? Does it get really nice and hot?

Houseplanter · 17/12/2023 20:22

I had skin grafts for 3rd degree burns from an uncovered hot water bottle as a child.
