Putting clothes on from inside out to right way around

DH and I were discussing last night if it is normal for people to be able to put clothing that is inside out, onto their body the right way around in 1 motion. E.G. when I take off a jumper it will be inside out, without turning it the right way around I put it back on but it will be the correct way around.

I can to it easily with jumpers/ hoody/ t-shirts I can do it with trousers but don't as much.

At school in PE I would take my shirt + jumper off together, hang them up inside out then pick them back up inside out and pull them on together reversing them as I put them on.

YABU - No most people turn the clothing the correct way then put it on

YANBU - That's pretty common and loads do it.

But wrt inside out clothes - yes 99% of my stuff is put away inside out and put on as you describe.

I only wear dresses and I do this all the time. I thought everyone did it! I do it on my child if the top is inside out. I always do it with my duvet cover as it’s much easier!!

Confused

This is what you discuss with your DH?!

Goodnessgraciousmee · 13/12/2023 14:37

It's weird but I admire it

Why is it strange? Confused

There's no subject sensible or otherwise that i wouldn't discuss with my DH.

It's never even occurred to me to me that this would be possible! Will definitely have a go next time I have something inside out. I can put a duvet cover on from either way ....

Joonio · 13/12/2023 15:07

Can anyone put their bra back on without undressing?

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 13/12/2023 15:10

I do it with tops all the time cos I'm a lazy launderer. I've never attempted trousers - that doesn't seem logical or seamless.

crumblingschools · 13/12/2023 15:12

If you have t-shirts with pictures on etc, if they are inside out, how do you know which one to pick? And isn't easier to empty pockets , do up zips etc, the right way when sorting out the laundry?

IsadoraQuagmire · 13/12/2023 15:47

I had no idea anyone did take their clothes off inside out, I've never seen anybody do this.

Any top without buttons is pulled from the bottom hem, straight up over my head. How are tshirts etc coming off without being inside out?

Yep, off and on without undressing. Even now I wear a crop top and can still do it.

My friend can take her pants off and on without taking her then(it was 10yrs ago) skinny jeans off, must be easier now for her with the baggier versions. Now that is a skill!

Exactly we chat about everything and anything.

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea I mostly put duvet covers on from inside out as well def easier.

@Joonio I have, but I can't if wearing anything too tight.

@Torganer that is impressive with skinny jeans!

I do this with one layer but can't do it with two. I'll separate a tee and a hoodie, I always get trapped if I try two layers!

Catsmere · 13/12/2023 20:56

Never done it and it would never occur to me. I only have clothes inside out when they're going in the wash or it they're hung out to air, and I turn them right side out when I'm putting them away or before I put them on.

Hellenika · 13/12/2023 21:00

When I take my clothes off, they do not end up inside out. So this seems very unnecessary to be making them inside out as you take them off and then making them right way out as you put them on.

I pull them up a bit from the bottom (holding from the outside) then take first one then the other arm out. They never end up inside out

I pull my arms in and then shuck the shirt over my head so off it comes right way out.
