How far did you go to get your man?

Casual acquaintance has lost 20lbs, got fake tan, veneers and extensions and bagged her man.

Another started a gossip campaign to smear her would be man's current girlfriend.

how far did you/someone you know go?

‘Another started a gossip campaign to smear her would be man's current girlfriend.’ Vile. Does her man know that she did that?

I’ve never done anything to ‘bag a man.’ Like most people, I’ve just met them during the course of everyday life and it’s gone from there.

Sort of yes. She's very domineering, has glossed over it a little and has him firmly under the thumb where she wants him. He wants to believe the best of her, and appears to being bossed around by her. He also likes how desperate she was to get him.

Not for a newspaper no. Just because I saw on SM that teeth and diet girl is now posting couple selfies with her new man.

I didn't do anything at all because DH wanted me "just the way I am" (to quote from the Bridget Jones film).

In my world anyone (male or female) who has tried too hard to get their man/woman failed because the desired one wasn't into them in the first place. One friend did meet her DH through a group hobby that she dabbled in and she probably carried on doing it longer than she normally would have and stopped when they seriously got together - I think the spark was there anyway! Nothing as extreme as your examples OP.

betterangels · 11/12/2023 11:43

Why are you friends with these people? Especially the second one. Edited to say casual acquaintance, sorry. Still. Second woman sounds awful.

I don't chase men, they're not that important.

TurningtheLightOff · 11/12/2023 11:44

Approximately 4,155 miles.

decemberchills · 11/12/2023 11:49

I thankfully didn't have to do much to 'bag' him. We clicked, it was easy. We are lucky

An ex colleague was very unfortunate in that her contraceptive pill mysteriously failed her a few short weeks into the affair she was having with a senior member of our finance team.....who had just bought a house with his lovely long term girlfriend.

We referred to the baby as 'the anchor baby'

Did the job as they are still together 12 years later!

HamsterBanana · 11/12/2023 11:50

I did nothing. He pestered me to go out with him till I said yes.

Good job really, been together sixteen years now. Grin

mrlistersgelfbride · 11/12/2023 11:54

Nothing. I was myself. He's very lucky to have me.
Men are ten a penny.

Wow. Yes back in the noughties I know a few who did this. Babies born six weeks after their "alleged" due date etc

I drove to the local Tesco’s. He was hard to bag up and heavy to get into the car but I managed it.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 11/12/2023 11:56

hahah wtf theres millions of men - if one of them i liked is not interested i just find a different one

PurpleChrayne · 11/12/2023 11:56

"bagged her man"? Is it the 1970s?

Thepeopleversuswork · 11/12/2023 11:57

I've never "bagged" a man in my life. I wouldn't want a man who had had to be "bagged". I wouldn't want one I'd had to modify my appearance to interest, or one I'd had to steal away from a current relationship.

Just yuck.

IWroteTheOther51 · 11/12/2023 11:58

I learned to make a really good lasagna.

No regrets.

Googlelina · 11/12/2023 11:58

1970s feels generous.

tescocreditcard · 11/12/2023 11:59

My man bagged me.

My man bagged me.

Was it a bag for life? I do like the sturdy handles.

Bobbotgegrinch · 11/12/2023 12:00

My friend took up smoking so she had an excuse to get some alone time outside the pub with him.

It worked, they got married 3 years later. He quit smoking shortly afterwards whereas she's still hooked 15 years on!

Bireadwhatiread · 11/12/2023 12:02

I am laughing at your answers. I'll be taking my zip tie and refuse sack next time I am out so I can get bagging.

Obviously, I am around a lot more drama than some!

Huge fake lips, breasts and bum. Acrylics (mani & pedi), fake tan, laminated brows,

Russian lashes, hair bleached to platinum blonde and long and luscious hair extensions.

Also, under eye filler, cheek filler and a face lift.

Fat dissolving injections, loads of very heavy make up, very skimpy and sexy clothing and high heels of course.

I do wear a long puffer coat in this weather though

Did you do all that to bag a man or was it predominantly for you instead?

Rubble bags also work well for bagging a larger chap.

LonelyandsadChristmas · 11/12/2023 12:03

Bin bag, carrier bag or body bag 🎒

Teenagequeenwithaloadedgun · 11/12/2023 12:03

What kind of bag? Was it a sack?

ChanelNo19EDT · 11/12/2023 12:03

The kind of man I would have wanted wouldn't have been won over by fake lips, tits, eyelashes. The kind of man I wished I could attract ended up with well-adjusted women who were naturally attractive and accomplished in their own right. I did have therapy and finally, after two rounds of therapy, when I'm too old for it to matter, I finally get it. So, I'm going to answer you with one word after all of this waffling,

therapy

Any man you have to change your appearance/behaviour/attitude or play mad games for isn't worth having.
