To think that the new labels on rolls of wrapping paper is the shittiest idea?

Whose idea was this fucking nonsense? The paper labels on Tesco wrapping paper are impossible to get off and it's infuriating! They must actually waste a fair bit of paper through 'rippage' and it's completely pointless.

They are utter shite, the designer of them needs shot! 🙄

Perfectlystill · 07/12/2023 20:49

Agree. So so shit

AllAroundMyCat · 07/12/2023 20:56

Yep.
And involves more waste.

Rubbish.

MoltenLasagne · 07/12/2023 21:18

Some brands are worse than others. First roll I had was absolutely fine, they came off no issue. So when I got Sainsburys wrapping paper I thought it would be the same. Nope - wasted about a foot from the stickers and resultant tearing.

Tesco ones are f- ing awful!!!

Thank you!
I'm using last year's paper, mind you, so maybe the glue has gone a bit hard. These labels are really bloody difficult to remove and certainly do not simply peel off!

There has to be a better way.

I'm aware they give you a bit of extra paper, but this doesn't make up for the labels being a pain in the arse.

Don't understand the issue. They give a little more paper, you just cut it off.

The world is still turning.

I bought Waitrose wrapping paper, and it is WrappersDelight to use. There is no dodgy collar, just neatly tied with slide-off ribbons. Also has cutting lines on the inside to guide you like sticky back plastic. 10/10

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 08/12/2023 20:43

These one from Sainsbury’s have annoyed me for the past few years but this year they've been ok. They actually peeled off with no damage to the paper.

SiennaMillar · 08/12/2023 20:45

Yes! Infuriating! I don’t care about the inch wasted, I care about the 10 minutes trying to peel off SIX extremely sticky labels. When you’re blasting through the paper, wrapping big things, you spend more time removing labels than wrapping presents!

SherlocksDeerstalker · 08/12/2023 20:47

I think they’re brilliant. So much better than the horrific shrink wrap plastic im forever trying to manhandle off like some sort of extremely tight fitting condom 😁

GingersOwner26 · 08/12/2023 23:36

After having done a load of wrapping yesterday I did find myself cursing those labels. Yes, to be fair they do provide extra paper and the slight rippage I got wasn't bad but still annoying.
