If Santa brings ALL the gifts...

... how do you explain all the stuff in toy shops and all the people buying presents? Are they just for naughty kids Santa doesn't buy for?

Just contemplating it today as I stashed my large bag of presents in front of a random 3 year old on the bus.

Not an Aibu but when I try to add to Chat it won't let me on the app

I give DC their main gift. Santa brings a few books, a game, PJ's and stocking gifts like a selection box or bar of Toblerone.

Why are you overthinking this so much?

Kids buy into the Christmas traditions of their own home. It's pretty simple.

Yes but those traditions are set by adults. It isn't kids ability to believe nonsense in questioning, just interested in the adult logic behind it

Santa gives some small presents in a stocking in our house. Then all other presents are from us or friends/family.

growing up, my aunt and uncle labelled all presents from Santa, even those gifted from others. So no acknowledgement or thank you from the children if a grandparent bought them a gift!

And people have told you their logic ,do Xmas however you want and let others do the same .

Everything in the stocking is from Father Christmas. Other presents are usually labelled so are from grandparents or aunts and uncles.

It's threads like this that make me glad my little one doesn't believe.

You're buying for nephews, nieces, friends of family etc?

All from you or all from everyone?

Not sure I understand what you mean, but if for example my brother got my son a present, we say that Santa left a present for him at my brothers house. So in some ways he recognises that the present was from my brother, and thanks him for it. Since thats how my family has always handled it, it’s not an issue for anyone.
