Everyone will have a totally different idea as to what a lower income is, but just wondered if anyone here has raised a child/children without 2 parents on high salaries and without let's say a very large amount of savings etc? Just wondered how did you manage and did you receive a lot of support?

My partner and I have a baby and are both uni students, we live with his parents, they (very kindly) don’t ask for rent but we are saving what would be rent each month towards a house. We buy DDs clothes off Vinted, a lot of toys from Facebook marketplace, others new. I take full advantage of offers at boots for nappies, sudocrem, snacks etc as well as their student discount on top. I breastfeed so no buying formula. Gov provides childcare grant which pays for 85% of childcare fees. Lots of ways to cut costs down here and there, you definitely don’t need to be on 100k to support a child, you just make it work.
