Just...
Say...
No!

I mean, it's that simple! Am I being unreasonable to struggle to understand the absolute tizz people get themselves into? Who cares? It's like the mythical, judgy mums hoopla. Who are these real people who feel compelled to toss aside reason??

A young colleague of mine said something very thought-provoking last year. "The only stress or pressure we have is what we make ourselves."

About Christmas or everything in life?

@RedToothBrush it was one reason I switched it round and we now do dinner early evening- finishing about 6.30 to 7pm and in the day we open presents, go for a walk if it's not pissing down and maybe play a game with some Xmas music on- having dinner at 2ish made me feel sluggish then for the whole day.

We always did Christmas Dinner about 4pm. All day was spent opening and playing with presents.

I actually prefer Christmas eve, that's always felt more magical for me. Having a drink with your loved ones. Laughter and anticipation. For what? I don't know. Part of me wishing that wars will end, a cure for cancer announced. Something like that.

As an mother with 2 adult kids and a 1 year old, I just want a nice dinner and a low key day. I've no room for a Christmas tree. I hate Christmas music and commercialism.

A few arts and crafts and play games with my husband and baby.

I don't care if I never get a gift ever again. If I want something, I will buy it myself.
