To be cross at nursery for not administering antibiotics?

I have a one year old daughter who unfortunately has frequent UTIs and consequently is often on antibiotics. We’ve started getting really good at catching them early, so my daughter is absolutely fine and happy in herself, well enough for nursery, but needs antibiotics x3 a day. Logically that is one dose when she wakes up, one before bed and one around lunchtime, but the nursery have said they are not even allowed to have it on the premises. Is this common policy? It seems a bit ridiculous to me.

or the doctor can change the dose so it is twice a day

the doctor can advise the timing so that nursery are not involved.

How if your child spends the majority of the day at nursery which I'd imagine a 1 year old probably would?

Presumably they're prescribed to be taken 3 times a day for a reason, I wouldn't want my DC's treatment to be less effective just because nursery don't want to give a dose. Giving prescribed medication is a very normal thing for a nursery to do IME.

That would have to be twice a day for many children of working parents.

Our nursery used to do it (provided child was well of course) and current school does, no problem (albeit it is a private school with three registered nurses and two nursing assistants across the junior and senior school sites so that no doubt helps with the insurance side of things!)

I would keep asking until you can ascertain it is a genuine policy based on the terms of their insurance. Otherwise you’ll have to bunch up the timing of the doses

Most schools or nursery's won't give antib unless says 4 times a day

3 means am - pick up and bed
Time
/middle of night if need be so you can do it

4 they will do so ask doctor if can give 4 times a day whether 4ml x 4 times instead of 5ml x 3 and get it written onto the bottle

The chemist can do this as they do the stickers for the medication

What times is she at nursery? Could you do once before drop off, one at pick up, and one before you go to bed?

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this, but has she been referred to a paediatric urologist about the frequent UTIs? If she hasn't she should be in case there is an underlying cause that requires treatment eg vesicoureteral reflux
