Would you buy manager a birthday gift?

Been in my current job 3 months and I have an amazing manager who has Supported me through everything. I have already given £5 in our teams money collection. But wanted to send a gift card or something to her just from me. Am I ok to do this or is it too much?

Coffee gift card is fine but unnecessary.

Much more meaningful would be to send a card or email telling her about what she's done to support you and the difference that has made.

I think a gift card or anything to do with money would feel awkward, but I would be touched if someone left a card and a nice cupcake on my desk, or remembered that I like rocky road or whatever. Something personal.

@OhNoOhNo

Oh, I understand. Yes you're right. OP isn't being weird by wanting to do this, she sounds lovely. Those comments are OTT.

We all buy our manager individual presents for birthday an Christmas. However they buy us Christmas and birthday presents. A lot of thought goes into them.

That's unusual. You all do it? For birthdays?
Yes, absolutely.
We have the best manager who goes out of her way to support every member of staff. She remembers all our birthdays.
