To want DH to stop coughing?

I know he can't help but my god, it's driving me absolutely crazy! He's tried cough sweets, cough medicine (kids version as that's all we have) and the usual paracetamol/ibuprofen for the sore throat.

Is there anything else he could try though to stop it or lessen it maybe? I don't think I can listen to it any longer 🤯

Try a antihistamine the one that makes you drowsy think it’s cetrizine.

I've had a combination of ibuprofen, steroid nasal spray & lorotadine antihistamine recommended by a gp in the past to dry up mucous. Take full dose of each for around 5 days. May help with cough if he's snotty.

Night nurse or nytol (or generic diphenhydramine hydrochloride) are both good suppressants for night time, especially the nytol - discovered by accident when DHs awful cough was keeping him awake a few years ago so he tried my sleeping tablets.

Lemon and honey
Bronchostop pastilles
Any cough medicine specifically for bronchitis
Warm water to sip instead of cold water
Trip to the gp possibly needs an inhaler?

OP get how you feel. I want to put a pillow over DH at night!! He's kept me awake for weeks. It's disgusting as he also spits it out!

@inyourwildestdreams oh no thats not ideal :( i'll bear that in mind for the next cough!

he should get checked for adult asthma. My DH has it x

chest infection, pneumonia?

that's what a persistent cough meant in my xH. Only cleared with antiBs.

And yes it drove me nuts, too, I am still a bit PTSD about it.

Things that help coughing include dark chocolate, pineapple juice and cutting out dairy temporarily. Trust me, they work!
