To want to know the childhood toy/game you'd still love to have now?

Mine would be the flat bed of the Fisher price campervan. He was my best friend growing up, I pulled that truck everywhere (he also had a name)
I can't justify buying one from eBay, but if I see one at a charity shop it's coming home with me and I'm in my fifties.
If I could gift you one of your childhood toys now what would it be?

I loved that ball on a plastic string thing that you attached to one ankle and swung round and jumped over with the other foot. Would do it now for the exercise!

goneaway2 · 10/11/2023 12:22

My little pony Lulaby Nursery and Princess Pearl with Firey the dragon.

goneaway2 · 10/11/2023 12:23

Also miss my Britains riding school. It got disposed of during a house move because the guinea pigs that I never asked for kept weeing on it.

Those swingy clacker ball things or a Spirograph.

I had Spirograph. That yellow plastic thing where you had to use both the felt tip pens in the box caused me to have about 74833 meltdowns as a child to the point Spirograph disappeared from the cupboard one night never to be seen again. My poor mum 😂

@Farmersweeklyreader most Britain's stuff does come up on eBay from time to time. I have a little 1989 catalogue so I see the reference numbers.

My farm was a beautiful home made one (dgf was a real craftsman) but all my animals and machinery was Britains (including some metal horses and Carts and animals from my DMs toyfarm). I had the milking parlour and it was great attaching the pipes to the udders and closing the gates etc. it came with a little dairy man with a sprayer model.

I never had the combine (cost) 😥

Old fashioned Fisher Price school house! I found the people at my dad's house and DD loves them.

I've never seen that before but I've just looked at one on eBay. Looks amazing!

I had a Magic Robot. He had a little notch in his base, so when you fitted it into the thing in the centre he always moved round the same amount of moves. That guaranteed the right answer!

I know, but it was years before I figured that out.

@TheShellBeach , the Magic Robot was the forerunner of Google. He did know ... well, you had to ask the right questions. Then he knew the answers

I had the FP Treehouse as a child too, and found a pretty good model on Amazon last year and got it for Christmas (not read the full thread, so apologies if someone has already mentioned it). I'll try to put a picture on...

My Cricket doll, she had different cassettes you could put in her back and she would talk, tell jokes and read stories I loved her for years, she would sleep with me and go everywhere with me.

Lights alive

Iamnotminterested · 10/11/2023 19:05

I also loved my Sindy dolls, her dune buggy and room sets - I had the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom set was brown, and the shower was battery-operated and really loud to have on, but I loved it. Also remember the orange towel.

I had a Mr Frosty too 😏

Oh I'm sooo jealous I'd do anything to play for five minutes with a treehouse and put rover the dog in his little kennel and then put him on the swing (thought about it a lot ) 😁.

Pasithean · 10/11/2023 19:46

Tracy teatime 70s and a little dog that had a hand set attached he would walk and bark and when he barked a butterfly on his tale would flap its wings. About 1971.

Lex345 · 10/11/2023 19:50

Screwball scramble. I LOVED that game

WeShallHaveFogByTeatime · 10/11/2023 20:03

I know there are coffee shops out there that have old games but a really good business would be short rural away breaks with all these games and toys to play with for us all.
I've never been a very good artist but I can imagine sitting by a river, capturing what I see via the means of fuzzy felts.

I want my My Little Pony castle back please. It had a little winch where you could lift up and down Spike the dragon and another winch for the drawbridge.

Parents got rid when my back was turned obvs 😭

Also if you could give it to me in the super box it came in that would be great.

My sister had that. I loved spike!

PestilencialCrisis · 10/11/2023 21:51

Keepers, pound puppies or the big yellow teapot.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/11/2023 21:52

I still have my cabbage patch kids. And was astounded my parents gave me back my big yellow tea pot. I couldn't believe they'd kept it. My mum was terrible for throwing stuff out. Though I think it's tied into one of my dad's favourite memories of my childhood.

JaceLancs · 10/11/2023 21:53

My 1960s dolls house I adored it complete with orange and brown kitchen and primrose bathroom suite
it would be a collectors item now so retro

Walker1178 · 10/11/2023 21:55

A robot cat called Pester, looked a bit like a roomba but with fur wish I knew what happened to it ☹️

Toddlerteaplease · 10/11/2023 21:56

@booksandbrooks do you mean a Funfax. I had one of them it was brilliant.

LongLostTeacher · 10/11/2023 22:02

My Glo Worm. So cute.

110APiccadilly · 10/11/2023 22:03

The (very slightly wonky) Wendy house my dad built for us out of plywood, complete with curtains at the window, and letterbox in the door.
