Dropped oily food on brand new Ugg boot

What can I do ? I never owned proper uggs when they were trendy many years ago because I could never afford them. I just got my first ever pair and they're so comfy.

I immediately sprayed them with suede protector spray.. later on I was cooking and loving life in my comfy new uggs, when I dropped an oily tomato on them.

Two oil stains have remained.

Is there any hope ? I'm heartbroken..

I know Uggs are ugly but they're so comfy and warm. I love them !

You’re never going to wear them outside so it doesn’t matter. Continue using them as indoor slippers you can cook in.

ComtesseDeSpair · 08/11/2023 22:13

Try cornstarch and then brushing the spots with a soft toothbrush.

Ilovegoldies · 08/11/2023 22:14

Try dry shampoo on them. It works on clothes.

Another vote for fairy liquid

LadyMacB · 08/11/2023 22:16

Have you tried putting them in a metal dustbin, setting fire to them, and then standing well back (with a bucket of water for health and safety reasons).

Really? I haven’t seen anyone actually wearing uggs outside for years. But I have been in people’s houses and they’re wearing their old pairs as slippers. I assumed that’s what you were going to use them for!

Hahaha yes I second this!

But if you really want the stain out then yes fairy liquid is the way forward

SofiYol · 08/11/2023 22:17

You can buy Ugg cleaning kits which I think have a shampoo in them?

Dartmoorcheffy · 08/11/2023 22:18

Ignore the ugg haters. I sympathise but I wouldn't worry because as soon as you wear them outside they will get plenty more stains but they will still be so warm and comfy.

Cheeesus · 08/11/2023 22:18

I got grease on a hoodie and tried a load of things including nail polish remover, fairy and wd 40. A couple of cycles of repeating all of those and it came off.

RigorMortisRadio · 08/11/2023 22:19

@Thedm every other girl under the age of 18 is wearing them where I live! They are v much back in fashion, the ultra low ones anyway.

Rattymare · 08/11/2023 22:21

Fuller's Earth powder absorbs grease from fabric.
Sprinkle on, leave overnight and brush off the next day.

2ndMrsdeWinter · 08/11/2023 22:21

Baby powder. Sprinkle and hoover it off.

I live in very central London and see loads of people wearing them every day (including me) very much in, especially the minis and ultra minis. I'm not under 18 though, I'm in my 20s.

beetr00 · 08/11/2023 22:24

DO NOT put anything wet on the stain @uggggh

https://www.celticandco.com/shop-with-us/new-cleaning-and-care/how-to-clean-sheepskin-slippers

Before working on the stain with anything wet, which may set it in, apply some talcum powder or chalk to the area which should help to draw the grease out. After a few hours remove the powder by brushing it off with a soft brush.

QueenCamilla · 08/11/2023 22:24

Someone said they were repelling. Well clearly not!

@IsadoraQuagmire yes sorry I didn't mean it was just under 18's wearing them, just that they seem very popular with teens! I'm mid 20's and have got myself a pair of pink ultra minis Smile

You can buy Ugg cleaner. Many years ago my sister was pregnant and was about to give birth she bleed a lot all over her Ugg boots - the chestnut colour with the beige fur. I mean bright red, they were covered in blood.

amzn.eu/d/eyXJJv6 - I'm pretty sure her partner used this one, they come up brand new.

Isn’t it just!!!

I’m in central London and am seeing a lot of Uggs on people younger and more fashionable than me.

Can’t help with the stains though OP, but it seems like you’ve had some good tips above.

spiderlight · 09/11/2023 09:10

You can get Stain Devils for oily stains, or Tesco do their own version, which is a roll-on. Eucalyptus oil also works, believe it or not, but I don't think that would be safe for suede.

Well what a shitty snidey comment. Slow hand clap to you.
