i lived in a place with lovely weather that was not on a fault line, had hurricans, enormous insects, etc.

the two don't always go hand in hand.

hmm, haven't been to italy in years and years.

Come and see me Expat

bebespain · 11/03/2008 20:49

You would soon get tired of the sun and blue skies. Believe me its sooooo boring and you get really sweaty

francagoestohollywood · 11/03/2008 20:53

Yes, I'm honestly dreading the summer months, after 8 yrs in the UK, I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with the heat.

bebespain · 11/03/2008 20:56

Me too. Give me an English "summer" any time!

francagoestohollywood · 11/03/2008 20:59

See, I'm not sure about what I want... I have in my mind the picture, the smell, the feeling of the perfect English summer day, but when I was living in Devon we didn't get enough of these perfect days iyswim...

micegg · 11/03/2008 21:00

I love the UK. The changing seasons, lying in bed listening to the rain on the window, fields of bluebells in the spring (well that'll be Richmond Park for me!), London (biased as I am from there), free healthcare and a welfare system, good economy, education for all.

Admittedly its not perfect: its very expensive which makes life difficult for alot of people, selfish attitudes, etc.

hifi · 11/03/2008 21:01

i love everything except the rain, went away last sunner for 3 weeks, woke every morning to blazing sun.after a week i was praying for a little cloud, or gust of wind, or light shower.

thestands · 11/03/2008 21:01

I love crisp autumn days, when you can kick the leaves and collect conkers, then come home to hot soup and crusty bread.

expatinscotland · 11/03/2008 21:02

don't temp me, franca .

francagoestohollywood · 11/03/2008 21:08

. (how are you?)

havalina · 11/03/2008 21:14

Bloody weather round here (South east) is pretty bloody boring most of the time, either mild and occasionaly a bit of rain, or slightly cold and a little bit of rain. We have had gusty winds but not extreme, we don't get snow,
we haven't even really had hail this winter.

I don't even remeber having a decent thunderstorm whilst living here it's blimming boring. At least when I lived in the North east we used to occasinally get a bit of snow, and used to have the most impressive thunderstorms, something to do with the hills apparently.

expatinscotland · 11/03/2008 21:14

i could use a tan, franca, but otherwise all right .

francagoestohollywood · 11/03/2008 21:16

You need to wait at least until mid April to get a decent tan. Am I wrong or have you been - ahem - too busy to worry about tans?????

havalina · 11/03/2008 21:19

Summer is ok though apart from when I'm pregnant, last 2 pregnancies coincided with the hottest summers on record, looking forward to a decent summer sans bump (hasn't happened yet).

scottishmummy · 11/03/2008 21:21
