Influencer kicked out of Starbucks for having scabies

A well known influencer called Elphaba was removed a Starbucks this week due to having scabies. Multiple people called the branch she was at informing the manager she has scabies. There seems to be some confusion as to whether she is on effective treatment for it.

Was the manager right to remove a paying customer from its premises?

There’s videos of him admitting it’s all for show and attention, him him him. Him.

Never heard of this person. Don't care to. "Influencers" are all ridiculous. Starbucks can refuse to allow anyone in that they like, for any legal reason - as can any property owner.

Utter none story.

Pottedpalm · 02/11/2023 17:43

Frabbits · 02/11/2023 17:12

She should be removed simply for being an influencer. Fucking worthless.

Agreed. I have no idea who this person is, but the while concept of ‘influencers’ is abhorrent. Why would anyone allow themselves to
be influenced by these shallow, money grubbing people?

LakeTiticaca · 02/11/2023 17:44

The management can remove anyone from their premises. It's private property and if someone is causing issues they will be out on their ear

newnamethanks · 02/11/2023 17:50

Scabies? Are we living in the Dark Ages? Bloody hell. Be cleaner.

IncompleteSenten · 02/11/2023 17:51

It's a business. They can refuse service to anyone for any reason except one against the law (protected characteristics).

Although some of them would disagree, these ridiculous 'influencers' don't fall into that category.

Theunamedcat · 02/11/2023 17:51

I think they admitted they don't even have a Dr as they don't have an address so how they would get treatment I don't know

Toottooot · 02/11/2023 17:54

Fa the fuck is Elphaba? Only Elphaba I ken is the green witch.

It's contagious - you have to be in contact. Like headlice.

It used to be the same treatment I caught scabies from a child years ago I j
Had to stay off work till they cleared and it was a headlice treatment I used.

Anyway this person probably was causing an arse of themselves in the shop and was asked to leave!

Spirro · 02/11/2023 17:55

Scabies is not infectious. It’s not even an infection!

It’s lice. Similar to headlice but smaller and they live on your body instead of in your hair. You catch them in the same way as headlice - they crawl onto you from someone else. You can catch them from animals as well as from humans, for example stroking a cat which has scabies.

You treat scabies in the same way as headlice - by drenching yourself in insecticide. It’s not prescription medicine, you can buy it over the counter just like headlice treatment.

I don’t know who this person is that you’re talking about, but there’s no reason they should be ostracised for having scabies, any more than someone should be ostracised for having headlice. You cover yourself in the stuff, it kills the lice, one treatment and job done. If Starbucks is kicking people out for having scabies then they need to kick out little kids with headlice too!

Having said that, I’m not sure how anyone would know this person had lice anyway? Surely you realise you have lice, you put the lotion on to kill them and don’t mention it to anyone?

Spirro · 02/11/2023 17:57

newnamethanks · 02/11/2023 17:50

Scabies? Are we living in the Dark Ages? Bloody hell. Be cleaner.

Anyone can catch scabies. It has nothing to do with hygiene. Just like you don’t catch headlice because you have dirty hair. Bloody hell, are people really going around with these bizarre beliefs?

BitofaStramash · 02/11/2023 18:03

I wonder what medical qualifications are held by the Starbucks staff to enable to make this kind of diagnosis.

And do they publish a list of ailments which are forbidden on the premises

MachinesOfGod · 02/11/2023 18:05

Is the OP Elphaba looking for more notoriety?

Uniquuue · 02/11/2023 18:06

She's very troubled.

I hope she has at least one good person around her.

BoobyDazzler · 02/11/2023 18:10

I caught scabies while working in a nursing home years ago. It was bloody awful and I can’t believe anyone would be able to carry on their life without treating it!

I am quite clean, btw. It’s like headlice.. if you’re in contact with someone who has it, you can catch it regardless of how clean you are.

GirrlCrush · 02/11/2023 18:12

She hasn't

Her mother is worse

Lilq5 · 02/11/2023 18:27

These idiots who wait to see where somebody is on tiktok and then call up making malicious reports need a good hiding.

Somebody did this to Chelsea Lee Art recently, but in that case they called up and said she had a knife (she didn't) resulting in the owner of the bar calling the police who came and detained her for a search. It's disgusting and taking police resources away from where they need to be.

CLA is awful, granted, but she's also a woman with quite severe mental health problems and a learning disability.

I don't know why they don't all come off the app. The grief they get is beyond anything I could cope with.

Lilq5 · 02/11/2023 18:29

Toottooot · 02/11/2023 17:54

Fa the fuck is Elphaba? Only Elphaba I ken is the green witch.

It's a self professed trans (debatable) person who has taken on the persona of Elphaba the green witch.

LuluBlakey1 · 02/11/2023 18:31

Why does anyone listen to these influencers. They are all talentless money-grabbing liars at best and at worst have very malign intentions.

boako · 02/11/2023 18:39

"Well known" my arse.

I am sure I'm not the only one who has never heard of this person.

BloodandGlitter · 02/11/2023 18:39

This is from one of the websites that chronicles "famous" influencers.

"Drama: Faking autism, abusing a dog by keeping it locked in a cage all day, faking tics, talking sexually to minors in a group chat and threatening to rape them. Claiming to spend all the money she gains from Tiktok on her transition (slur removed) instead spending it on alcohol and junk food.

He also beats his mother pretty regularly sometimes on stream.

He has touched his deformed penis in front of minors on stream.

Always playing the victim, self harming on stream, begging for donations under the threat of self harm."

Doesn't sound like they should be out in public at all to me.

LegendsBeyond · 02/11/2023 18:41

These people are clearly not well. Why does anyone care what they’re doing?

AngelinaFibres · 02/11/2023 19:00

AutumnComfort · 02/11/2023 16:52

If it's not infectious, how do you get it....?

You can only catch it from very close ( skin to skin) contact. I caught it from a child on my final teaching placement. You treat it by having a very hot bath and covering yourself in Lorexane cream from the neck down. Change and hot wash your bedding. Wash clothes. That's it. One application and they're gone. You cannot catch them from sitting next to a stranger in a cafe.

newnamethanks · 02/11/2023 19:06

From the description above, it sounds like scabies is the least of his/her problems. The 21st century freak show continues for the entertainment of its willing audience.
