To correct my boss (and colleagues) on my name?

So I've recently started in a new team at work and my boss and a few of my colleagues keep pronouncing my name wrong.

It's fairly common in the country I'm from but very very unusual outside of it and it's one that people tend to either know or they don't. It is difficult to spell and I'm not particularly precious about it being spelt wrong (although on teams or email I do feel it's polite to take 30 seconds to double check the name).

But it's not difficult to pronounce. I know that's easy for me to say but its said the same sounds as other quite common names. Think Anna being like Hannah.

I told my parents about it and my dad told me to correct him sooner rather than later before it sticks but my mum says to leave it.

Other people pronounce my name correctly and I've introduced myself to him or said my own name a few times. I don't want to be rude or difficult but it does bother me.

PLEASE please correct them asap. A girl at school called me Gina (my name is Jenna) I never corrected her for a couple of years as I was too embarrassed at first. Then one day someone said to her ‘her names Jenna why are you calling her Gina’ everyone was mortified, she asked me why, I mumbled I preferred Gina. The end 😂

Resurrecting this thread with an update. Good news and bad news. Boss and colleagues have either stopped saying my name or they've stopped saying it wrong, either way I haven't noticed being called the wrong name recently!

But now I have a new colleague, just started the team, English isn't their first language ( but again my name isn't English as such). They KEEP messaging me on teams spelling my name completely wrong. Not like 1 letter wrong, or even spelling it phonetically. They cut out literally half the letters. How do I correct politely? This one does annoy me, it's not hard to spell a name correctly on teams it's right there!

There's no middle ground here.

Either you say nothing and put up with it, or you say, "By the way, just to let you know my name is spelled O-P-H-E-L-I-A, you're not the first person to struggle with it though!"

Happens to my name all the time. My usual course of action is to ignore the first two offences and then send a polite reply along the lines of:
Thank you for sending me this document, I will look over it at the first opportunity. Just a gentle reminder that my name is spellt ABC.

Hello
I know I’m going to sound like a Scrooge, but my two primary aged sons, 8 and 10, said they don’t want to write any Christmas cards for their classmates this year. Admittedly, I also haven’t written cards in years myself, modern times of communication etc. They have the sense of obligation, and it’s interesting they’re so young and have this opinion. When I was growing up (I’m 40) I always saw my mum writing letters throughout the year and dozens of cards every Christmas, so it was the norm. Whereas my children have grown up seeing me communicate via technology, so it’s understandable. Is this just recognisably a sign of the times?

@Tryingtohelp12 SO true - in my case there isn't the racism element that I'm sure is in place with her experience but I've definitely anglicised my name in the past and I never will again. People learn how to say much more difficult words/names than mine and it's disingenuous of people to pretend my name is beyond their capabilities. It's laziness or ignorance and a lack of respect to dismiss someone's name as "too difficult" to be able to pronounce.
