To want to change my son’s name because of his siblings’ initials?

Ok I’m totally prepared to be told I’m being unreasonable but hear me out

I had my son last month and DH & I chose the name Jack. We have two DDs, and their names are Zoey and Iris

I’ve just realized their initials side by side spell out JIZ.

Should I change our son’s name because of this? DH thinks I’m being unreasonable and it’s no big deal

Always thought it was spelt with two 2 Z’s but dictionary.com says jiz with 1 z is an acceptable variant <misses point of thread>

My children's initials are B and J! It only struck me when my friend bought a necklace with her DCs initials on and I started to think I wanted one before realising it wouldn't work!
How often do you really use all your children's initials?

Daphnis156 · 18/10/2023 19:11

Oh to have such worries...

Bassetlover · 18/10/2023 19:14

My initials spell a mild swearword, I don't think my parents realised at first and it doesn't bother me.

Holly60 · 18/10/2023 19:16

The correct way to refer to your children would be Jack (first born son), then the oldest daughter (I think Zoe?) and then youngest daughter (Iris). So it would be JZI.

I'm joking of course. Most people will refer to them in birth order.

Fionaville · 18/10/2023 19:19

Nobody will ever notice that, unless you point it out! Even so, in age order the J would come at the end anyway. Nobody else is going to rearrange your children's names to work out what the initials spell out. YABU

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 18/10/2023 19:24

If you'd named your son jack isaac Zachary then maybe but you'll never put your 3 children's initials together like that and if you do you'd do it in birth order.

Kracnen · 18/10/2023 19:26

At first I thought you were being ridiculous. No one would ever rearrange your children’s initials to spell JIZ.

Then I remembered how my mum figured out that reordering her grandchildren’s initials spells FECK OFF.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/10/2023 19:28

No one with think that!

People rarely if ever put siblings together, and why would they ever put Jack’s name first even if they did - he’s the youngest?

YoureALizardHarry11 · 18/10/2023 19:29

Is this a serious question or someone feeling a bit bored? 😂 If serious, you’re being silly, OP. Had you not pointed this out, it would never have even occurred to me!

Blippard · 18/10/2023 19:34

I am someone who did change their baby's name but

MargotBamborough · 18/10/2023 19:35

That's batshit, OP.

No one is ever going to refer to your three children together by their initials.

NavyKitchen · 18/10/2023 20:43

Never even considered what my dc are...
MLT 🤷🏼‍♀️
I've never, ever had cause to write that before and ds1 is 21!

BabyDubsEverywhere · 18/10/2023 23:51

Don't change his name. No one other than you will even notice. I didn't realise until a few years after my youngest was born that my dc initials are J O K E
