To want to change my son’s name because of his siblings’ initials?

Ok I’m totally prepared to be told I’m being unreasonable but hear me out

I had my son last month and DH & I chose the name Jack. We have two DDs, and their names are Zoey and Iris

I’ve just realized their initials side by side spell out JIZ.

Should I change our son’s name because of this? DH thinks I’m being unreasonable and it’s no big deal

I had to look up what Jim meant so…..

Clarinet1 · 18/10/2023 17:32

Oops Jiz obvs!

PointyPot · 18/10/2023 17:37

I have two children and only ever write their initials in text messages but always with a & inbetween and in age order, so yours would be ZI&J, or just two of them Z&J or I&J. My friend's one DD's initials spell out IRA. Yes they knew but how many times do you write all 3 initials?

Steev · 18/10/2023 17:39

Don't worry, Jizz has 2 Zs.

Seriously though. Def hormones.

Georgyporky · 18/10/2023 17:43

I worked with a Bill (William after his Dad) Knight. He had to produce his Birth Certificate, & his stupid parents had added the Grandfathers' names - Arthur & Norman.

This really made me laugh, but no one else will make Taft connection but you.

But please, call your next child Zachary.

That connection.

Step away from the hormones Dear.

Your children's initial are fine.

ClareBlue · 18/10/2023 18:10

Well at least you got us all thinking of our children's initials when nobody had ever thought about it before.😂
Some in our family are quite funny and if you incorporate cousins you can basically make any rude word you want.
It's really not something anybody will ever notice. Jack is a good solid name that doesn't go out of fashion of indicate a particular name choosing time and your son will have no issues with it being spelt wrong of mis interpreted. All good for him.

Caszekey · 18/10/2023 18:17

I do like that mine spell XAC. I figure I can just tell it and they'll all come. But yes, you're hormonal and crazy, Jack is a lovely name.

timegoesfast · 18/10/2023 18:20

children in our family.
My dc - AA
Sister dc - LP
Sister2 dc - LA
friend dc- ZAP
Me and my sisters- CAVES😂

SacAMain · 18/10/2023 18:28

Now every poster is checking what the initials of their own kids make, because they likely never even thought about it before 😂

Coughingdodger · 18/10/2023 18:31

Ha ha my DC are called Sarah, Hetty, Iris and Tamara.

Coughingdodger · 18/10/2023 18:31

(Not really)

Sugargliderwombat · 18/10/2023 18:37

It's a lovely name and you will laugh about this when the newborn haze has lifted.

Floatlikeafeather2 · 18/10/2023 18:39

I can honestly say, I have never, in the whole of their lives, written my children's initials together. They're 39 and 36. Go and enjoy your lovely family. X

Namechangedforthis25 · 18/10/2023 18:47

Wow, just wow 😂😂

no you’re fine.

but I feel your tiredness- get some rest

Bearcub101 · 18/10/2023 18:49

Don’t be so daft! Lol

DiscoBeat · 18/10/2023 18:52

You've just made me realise that my other siblings spell out SAD and it's taken 53 years and this post for me to find out. It's a non issue!

FallingAutumnLeaf · 18/10/2023 18:52

You are overthinking it.
Enjoy baby Jack snuggles. Maybe don't get a kids initial necklace as mentioned by a PP incase the letters jumble up.

I realised when we were in the land of weekly covid tests, if I labeled them with S for Sam (DS1), A for me as Anabel and D for Dad, I could line them up to say SAD. Names changed, initials correct.

DiscoBeat · 18/10/2023 18:53

I had to look up what Jiz meant so…..

Me too!

ActDottie · 18/10/2023 18:55

It’s a bit far fetched. I don’t ever remember me writing my brothers and mine initials together ever. I d didn’t know it’s something people do?

LakeTiticaca · 18/10/2023 18:56

Don't be daft. Who the heck is going to notice that, unless they are all joined at the hip and move as one 😉

TeaDrinker247 · 18/10/2023 19:00

Never once crossed my mind! Mine would be CF (but in age order FC). Either way in the 8 years I’ve never once realised or ever put their initials next to each other!

Doingtheboxerbeat · 18/10/2023 19:02

Kris Jenner had no problem naming her children with the letter K - especially the first 3 😳.
