So last night I dreamt I was dating Moira Stuart. Absolutely no idea where that came from in my subconscious, I haven't seen or listened to anything with Moira in for a few years.
I mean obviously she is beautiful but wtf?
Where does our brain get this stuff from?
Also in my dream she was wearing double denim (sorry Moira)
Anyone want to share theirs?

That I had a threesome with Borris Johnson and his sister, who looked like BoJo in drag.

I'm still recovering.

Feckin hell poor you 😂

Ugh I get lots of vivid and disturbing dreams.

A recent one that sticks out:

I was riding in a taxi through a city travelling home, but the driver made me get out half way so I had to travel the rest of the way on foot. I couldn't load google maps on my phone or figure out which way to go. I kept stopping strangers who tried to help me but then wandered off. I walked for hours and it was starting to get dark. At one point, I spotted a big shopping centre up ahead so I walked towards it hoping that someone there could help me, but as I got close to it it morphed into a small abandoned shack ☹️ I never made it home.

trevthecat · 17/10/2023 19:43

I tell everyone mine!

So when I was pregnant with the youngest we decided not to find out the sex.

I was quite heavily pregnant when I had a dream. I was in a pub with my baby, baby was around 6m old in the dream. Baby needed a nappy change but I didn't want to change them as dh wasn't there and we wanted to find out if baby was a boy or girl together.
Eventually I decided it just had to be done, took the nappy off and the baby had nothing there!! Like a barbie!
So strange!

Last night I dreamt that I was a passenger in my best mates car whilst she was driving. We got caught behind a collision and I jumped out and went to help. I ended up grabbing a small dog from the car and running off to a nearby building with it. Then I woke up so don’t know what else happened, but it was one of those that felt really real and sort of freaked me out a bit.

Fell asleep with a nicotine patch on some years ago and it was like a bad acid trip. I wasn't fully convinced I wasn't still dreaming for about half an hour after I woke up.

•Had a bad cough (in my dream) and peeled the skin down from my scalp to my belly button, reached into my chest, pulled my ribcage apart, and plucked a single feather from my lung. Then my jaw fell on the floor and took an age to get back on. (Don't you just hate it when that happens?!)

•Put cheeseburgers in the wash then hung them up on the line to dry.

•Got swallowed up by the earth while driving a clown car with 20 versions of myself in.

And much, much, more.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 17/10/2023 20:03

That I was bored of my right arm so I decided to hack it off. Then once I'd chopped it off I needed it so I had to go rooting out a needle and some thread to sew it back on again. In my dreams I can also run for miles and miles. In reality I can't run to the end of the road without pretty much dying

Doormatnomore · 17/10/2023 20:05

There was a zombie apocalypse and society had broken down. They had the cure in Paris and I had to cycle to get it, from Oxford. Was bad but I was managing till I got to the channel tunnel.

was bloody knackered when I woke up.

Aww, you saved the dog though.

I wish I could coherently remember my zombie apocalypse dreams because I could write screenplays. They are vivid and terrifying.

I had an indecent one about my dearly departed FIL Blush. I woke up feeling like I wanted to bleach my brain!

I probably wouldn't have minded if he'd been a younger version of himself, but he was as he left us (aged 83) and I was a 20 something BlushGrin

In my dream I am doing some ballet practice and hear my Nanny shouting I look down into the garden and she is hitting a huge shark with a broom. It’s mouth is as big as my she is and the waves are lapping at her feet but she is being very stern with the shark and he eventually backs away. My nanny doesn’t seem one bit phased and continues to hang out the washing

I had this dream about 35 years ago and still can remember it so clearly

SheKeepsWhisperingYourName · 17/10/2023 20:16

I've always had "End of the world" type dreams too where society breaks down. In mine I'm worried about trapped animals in zoos and laboratories. I rescue them and then my brain reminds me of all the animals trapped in houses. It's really horrible and stressful. Stupid brain.

Oh god that’s reminded me of the one where most people in the world vanished, there was only 1 person per town and I was just freaking out trying to get to the maternity wards to get the babies. I musnt have been bothered about the ones in houses.

i don’t watch horror or post apocalyptic stuff at all so I don’t know why my brain gets it from. Bloody hate a stressful dream.

Tarkan · 17/10/2023 20:27

I had one where I was being chased by a cat that turned into an evil octopus.

I'm known for my crazy epic dreams though. I have three I want to turn into books.

One was a massive supernatural battle type thing with werewolves, vampires, witches and wizards, demi-gods and ghosts.

The second was about a cannibalistic serial killer who captured backpackers and kept them in a log cabin in the forest. He had a few at one time and occasionally one would escape, or so they thought. He caught every single escapee and turned them into a curry to feed his captives with.

Third was a sci-fi type one where corporations ruled the world and even controlled who people married and had children with and there's an underground group of people trying to escape their chosen futures.

SheKeepsWhisperingYourName · 17/10/2023 20:29

@Doormatnomore
It's horrible isn't it? Life is stressful enough without stressful dreams when we should be having a rest from it all.

Another dream that my exs sister give birth to a steaming hot beef casserole and we all stood around stirring it.

Another one where I give birth to a baby out of my bum and my eldest son Cameron helped deliver it. No idea who Cameron is.

Singsonggsu · 17/10/2023 21:19

I was talking to Ant & Dec and they were waffling on about fish, different types, how to cook it etc. I then woke up very suddenly as my DH nudged me because my radio alarm was going off. Two people on the radio were talking about fish … weird af

ghostyslovesheets · 17/10/2023 21:30

Anxiety dreams are the worst - when ex left me with 3 kids, including a baby, I had awful dreams

My most recurring stress dream is the phone one - when you are trying to dial a number on an old rotary phone but either I always get the last number wrong and have to start again or I can't get the dial to move quick enough - usually before the murderer/purge people/zombies break down the door.

FiddleSticksGohHog · 17/10/2023 21:32

When I was a child I'd watched hocus pocus and that night had a nightmare that all 3 of the witches were chasing me and my friends down the street whilst they were flying on their brooms. I was so frightened I got in bed with my sister. I then woke again a few hours later and I'd been sick in her hair 😂

As an adult I dreamt i was on a walk down a country path with my DS when all of a sudden he disappeared. I ran up and down the path asking everyone if theyd seen him. No one had. Eventually stumbled upon a pub and his dad was inside ( weve all been NC with him for years) and I asked him if he had seen him, he said no, I asked him to help me look for him and he said no and that it was my responsibility, he was nothing to do with him. I was so angry in my dream, then i woke up and the panicky feeling of losing DS was still with me and i had to go and check his room to make sure he was there

I also dreamt that I was on a train with DD and another mother and her DD. For some reason we were all going to hospital and us mums left our children on the train to meet us at the hospital. When I got to hospital and went in the lift I reached a room where the kids were supposed to be and neither of them were there, woke up panicked again 😂

NoraLuka · 17/10/2023 21:36

I was climbing up a cliff and literally everyone I’d ever met in my life (primary school teachers, old colleagues, relatives, uni friends…) was at the top yelling advice down. I’m scared of heights and the cliff was made of that crumbly rock so it was difficult and when I almost reached the top I woke up screaming, which I never do!

Yahyahs22 · 17/10/2023 21:43

I gave birth to and elephant out of my knee cap. I was about 12 years old and I've still not forgotten a single detail of that dream.

I dreamt I was talking to the Beckhams and Vic was saying (in a London cockney accent) “me and David when we’re bored we put a key under David’s foreskin and from the shape of it we haha to guess whether it’s the front door key or the back door key.

I have such weird dreams

Hahahhaha. That's nuts. Mine involved really vile oral sex with Bin Laden. Long before he died.

RiftGibbon · 17/10/2023 21:55

All my dreams are weird. Often I'm trying to evade people who are trying to harm me (I am never clear on why they are after me), or I'm somewhere where I go through a door to get somewhere, but there's another door, and so on.

Recent dreams have involved a real live horse that deflated as it has been worked top hard, an old woman who lived in a fish tank in the cellar, and me driving a car but remotely, from another car - the one I'm in is moving passively but I am steering and controlling one way ahead on the road.
