Introverts vs Extroverts

Food for thought.

AIBU to think you are only going to be an introvert if you have had your confidence knocked continuously? By one person or multiple.

Why else would you worry about saying things you want to say?

Speaking how you feel...

Surely you would be an extrovert if you hadn't been shut down in the past?

In my experience, the relationship between introversion, extroversion, self-confidence, and past experiences is complex. While past experiences can shape an individual's behavior and attitude toward self-expression, introversion and extroversion are generally considered stable personality traits with a significant genetic component. People of all personality types may have concerns about expressing themselves or fear of rejection, etc

And what do you actually think @Hawkins0009, rather than your chatbot?

i created that summary from articles on the psychology today website, as it seems when its factual psychology research its better to be more authentic and use the slower method of combining sources and resummerising them.

As not everyone apricates a factual but fast tool of using the human mind vs a computer program, even thought at its core a human brain is basically a biological computer.

Yes, @Hawkins0009 - but what do you think in answer to the OP? I'm not in the least bit interested in how you cobbled together your autogenerated answer.

I want to discuss these things with human beings. So what do you think about the issues raised by the OP/the discussion in this thread?

im puzzled , i thought doing a mini essay and summary from reading psychology today does answer the ops perspectives, i could say the sky is purple , but to make sure my answers were grounded in science and reason, i read some articles then combined or re summarised to make the conclusion that i did.

other than just guessing at an answer, which to me is not likely to be helpful then how is my answer not human ?

I assume there's an army of people like me who sometimes find others energising and sometimes need to be alone to recharge. Ambiverts unite!!!

I was just about to say I'm an ambivert!

Introversion and extraversion are a sliding scale and not binary. And they refer to how a person derives their energy - from external or internal sources. People can sway between these two sources in different circumstances too.

I hate networking and small talk at conferences. I love a good party with people I know. I may lean towards not starting conversations, but I can feel energised by having an interesting conversation with someone I've only just met. However, I may then need some to myself to refocus/ recharge my batteries. I love being with my children and trying new activities, it's fulfilling. But I then crave a few minutes to myself, with my own thoughts and feelings. I oscillate between engaging and disengaging.
