By a boy for the first time! She is 12, and after her being in a relationship with this boy who is a year older she is completely crushed cos he ended it suddenly:
she is so upset I just want to make it better but I can’t. He’s been horrid and blocked her on everything.
I know that in the long term this is life and she is 12, but she is crushed and therefore I am for her.

Not even a hug lol. Just talking lots and walking home from School as a group

Well, that's not really a relationship with a boy, as such.

That's not to say the broken friendship hasn't hurt her.

But 12 years old is really too young to be starting this thing. Someone so young won't have any emotional maturity to deal with it. And that's why the fall out from it all is so harsh.

“He’s blocked her on everything”? She’s 12. What is there to block?

Well, when I was 12, the only thing that could be blocked was a drain or loo. Now it is phone numbers and all the various social media platforms. It is tough to be kid nowadays.

@XenoBitch 12 is below the age for pretty much every major social media platform.

Yes, a lot of platforms insist on 13 being the minimum age.. but that is also down to the parents.

I think you need better emotional boundaries. Feeling sad to see your DD so upset is normal, but being totally crushed yourself is not.
