Would you pick up a new car on Friday 13th

New family cars finally ready. Proposed date Friday 13th 😱

Am I being silly here delaying the pick up?

What actually happens on the day you pick up the car. Will it be registered 9n that date etc and will that put off other people if you saw Friday 13th on the V5 docs when we resale?

I used to be superstitious, but then while on holiday in India, we were due to travel 4 hours by coach, an hour and a half by plane, and 2 hours by boat, all on Friday 13th. I told my DH that if we survived that day, I'd never worry about Friday 13th again. We did, and I haven't. It's just a silly old story, so put it out of your mind, get your car, and enjoy it over the weekend. After all, who knows, we could all be dead by Monday!!😂

I don’t even know why Friday 13th is supposed to be bad luck (goes off to google it).

But yes I would pick up the car. I didn’t realise people actually avoided doing things on Friday 13th. I thought it was just one of those “ooh its Friday 13th!” and then not give it a second thought. I have a hospital appointment that day. Will it be bad news? Should I rearrange?!

I’m not superstitious at all so I wouldn’t think twice about it. However if it will bother you maybe you can postpone to the Saturday?

It's illogical to be superstitious about Friday 13th, but if you feel better about it picking it up on a different day then do so.
The bad luck can happen any day. I picked up my first brand new car on 1st September 2005. I remember seeing in town at lunchtime a brand new car also with the brand new registration for 1/9 & it's back end was already smashed in. Now that's bad luck! (Or bad driving!)

I too was born on Fri 13th, while my parents lived at number 13. It’s always been pretty lucky for me ( I hope🤣)

Yes of course I would, I used to love flying on Friday 13th as there was always lots of space due to people thinking a date has some cosmic bad luck attached to it.

Do you ever question why certain things are considered unlucky, and why Friday 13th is unlucky? Because 13 people sat down for the last supper on a Thursday and this led to Jesus' crucifixion on the Friday. By the same token are all left handed people possessed by the devil? The devil was left handed, apparently.

I met Dh on Friday 13th and it is our little joke that it was bad luck for one of us. We have been very happy together, married for 24 years. Every Friday 13th we have a little laugh about it wondering if anyone else will meet their best friend.

I was born on Friday 13th and I've been quite unlucky. I don't fear the date but I always think it makes sense I was born on it.
