Would you pick up a new car on Friday 13th

New family cars finally ready. Proposed date Friday 13th 😱

Am I being silly here delaying the pick up?

What actually happens on the day you pick up the car. Will it be registered 9n that date etc and will that put off other people if you saw Friday 13th on the V5 docs when we resale?

I got married on the 13th (a Saturday). it was the only day the venue had because they said everyone else was too superstitious. we are still married 20+ years on so a good day for us.

It blows my mind that this is a legitimate concern for you and you'd actually consider asking for an different date because of a superstition.

Are you like this with other superstitions? Must be tiring

It wouldn’t occur to me not to pick up a car because it’s Friday 13th

then again, it would also not occur to me call someone pathetic or stupid for thinking differently and their decision didn’t impact anyone remotely negatively at all

Don't be ridiculous. Nothing is going to happen to the car just because you pick it up on Fri 13th. If somethings going to happen it'll happen regardless of the date.

If its at the dealers ready to go then it'll most likely be registered on the date anyway

As for future owners they're not even going to realise the 13th was a Fri.

Pick your car up on Fri & enjoy it over the weekend

Believing in the Tooth Fairy, Friday 13th etc is as dumb as fuck and I am perfectly entitled to say what I think.

Ahh this is a point! No one would know it’s a Friday.

I don’t know why I feel this way. I’m not someone who does other weird superstition things.

That’s why I am asking. There’s no logical reason. I just don’t like it and is giving me bad vibes.

I am going to think about it over the week and try to be rational lol 😂

I definitely wouldn’t. I also wouldn’t drive one until it’d been blessed by a priest. You might think this is unnecessary but my mum had no end of trouble with a car and I’m convinced it was haunted.

I still do stuff on Friday 13th, just make a mental note when I realise beforehand of ‘that could be bad’. At some point in the day I realise it’s actually Friday 13th and remind myself to take extra care not to die and then at some point after the day think ‘glad you survived’ 🤣

The problem with this is it’s not one day! It will forever by the Friday 13th car🚙

Maybe it already is regardless of what day we pick it up 🤦‍♀️

I’m amazed by these responses. I’m flying on a plane that Friday - wonder if my flights were a bit cheaper as a result!
