My diet is shit because I never have an appetite. Anyway last blood test my ferritin was 12 and haemoglobin was 109 - both low and so diagnosed as anaemic. I’ve been taking the iron tablets alongside a vitamin c tablet religiously since and had a repeat test last week. Ferritin is now 33 and haemoglobin is now 124 so I’m no longer anaemic (yay!)

Now my red blood cells are low (just under limit) and white blood cells are borderline!! DH thinks I should take more vitamins but which ones?! Please no advice regarding diet, it’s a waste of time - I’ve been trying for years to improve it but I just can’t

I am peri-menopausal and have not got a great diet at the moment.

So along with my actual meds, I take vitamin B complex, vitamin D3, apple cider vinegar, and a sachet of spa... iron water in the mornings, and magnesium at night. I take vitamin C when I remember it (berocca or sambucol usually rather than a tablet).

Spatone is the iron I think

Often the NHS tests come back with barely above minimum required amounts but will flag as fine. You could be dragging right along the bottom and a boost of supplement might be just the thing to make you feel heaps better.

I had bariatric surgery last year so I can't absorb vitamins and minerals from food in the same way as most people and I have been chronically low in iron for years so I am prescribed:

Forceval - a prescribed multivitamin to ensure I get enough of everything as I can't get enough from food due to my surgery
Calcium & D³ tablets - I have to take two a day
High dose of Vitamin D tablet
Ferrous sulfate (iron) tablet
Zinc (as mine was low on my last blood test)

I also take a probiotic and a high dose of biotin, as my surgery meant my hair was falling out and was advised that biotin would help and so far it has definitely helped with that and it's general quality, as well as having a B¹² jab every 3 months.

Vitamin D and Calcium.

I have broken both my arms within the past 2 years. I started taking it after the first break hoping it would help healing. Since then I've had a bone density scan and have osteopenia (early osteoporosis basically) and the second break. My GP and the fracture clinic agree it is a good idea.

Read a book called mad diet. It’s brilliant. You can also get their vitamins.
there are four main ones you should have, probiotics, omega 3, magnesium and b vits
most brands that people have mentioned have nasty fillers in. Read up on the ingredients and you will see for yourself - one of the fillers being talc! Nice!
