To think shops should have it together by now!

Hi, this isn't really an AIBU, or maybe it is in a way. When to the shops restock school uniforms? I'm not meaning your basic white and greys. It is driving me mad! My dc have lost items at school and we need more jumpers, that don't cost the earth. I've checked online too, and they're out of stock everywhere!

Have you checked the lost and found? I was always told to take something in the right size as the cupboard was always over flowing.

Get a sharpie and write their name inside the collar in huge letters. Once I started doing this, missing items found their way back

We might be able to help find what you need if we know the colour. Unless it's got a defined pattern it won't link to you in your oresonal life. My school is grey jumpers yellow t shirts for example. I can't find them everywhere but asda are good for all colours, red, green, blue and grey.

@Slowlylosingmymind101 We stock bright yellow polo shirts if you need any (not sure what sizes we have left).

Just ask if they have xyz in size xyz in the back and they'll be happy to check. 😂😂😂 not in my experience! I asked the other day if they had polos in a certain colour as I could only see blue ones and wasn't sure if I was looking in the wrong place. I got a really rude reply along the lines of "if we had other colours they'd be out, we wouldn't put them at the other end of the store would we". Just no need for it. I've never had anyone offer to check the back in my life tbh. I get that usually what's displayed is all they have as I used to work in 2 big supermarkets but I was never a dick about it.

It's the season for winter coats and warm PJ's
A lot of shops fill the rails with these and put the last bits of stock that's not selling out the back til next year.
We had loads of winter hats out the back throughout the summer , they weren't showing on the website as they were shop stock not warehouse stock but still available if a customer asked.
Probably worth a visit or phone call to find the bits you need.

This is what I don't understand though. I get coats and hats and swimsuits and sunhats being seasonal but school uniform is needed year round surely?

I tried another supermarket for school socks yesterday. A big Sainsburys with aisles and aisles of clothes. There was one pair of school tights. Just one. And no plain socks at all. No white, grey or black. I don't get it!

For school socks but from sock shop the bamboo ones are brilliant. 5 for £5 and if you Google you’ll usually find a free delivery code.
