To think this can be achieved in early years childcare?

Lots of proposals in place such as offering workers the chance to gain a qualification to level 3 standard by experience which can be done on the job, Removing ratios at certain quiet times and reducing the number of level 2 workers needed. I also think the government are hoping to increase pay for all workers.
Aibu to feel optimistic that these changes will make a positive difference?

It's all on Google in terms of the proposals. Not just making it up off the top of my head.

Have you posted a link yet?

don't think someone has to be qualified to be a good practitioner.
OP posts:
Would you say that about a doctor or a lawyer or any other professional?

Many people think childcare is a piece of piss, when in reality, it's actually a lot of hard work.

Honestly, people think we just sit around and colour in and sing songs with the children all day.

We actually observe and assess your children to ensure they are meeting all their milestones.
We strive to meet their every need.
If they aren't meeting milestones, we are formulating plans to help them.
We spend many hours (sometimes even weekends and evenings) researching stimulating, fun age-approprite activities that will enrich their learning and provide enjoyment.
We even have to write up reports on how each activity went.
We are forever taking courses(in our free time and unpaid) that make us better and more effective practitioners because we want the same thing as you: for your children to have the absolute best start in life.
And most of all, we love your children and want them their early years to be a wonderful, happy and positive experience.

It's so disheartening and, in all honesty, a bit upsetting when people say shit like "you don't need qualifications", or as a charming gentleman once told me "you're just glorified babysitters" it completely devalues the all hard work we do.

OP what do you think nursery staff do? You do understand that staff need to follow the EYFS framework and abide by it... That we don't just play all day. Every activity is planned. And by planned I don't mean written on a board so that parents can see what's happening that day at drop off. Every activity is geared towards the development of one or several children at a time. The amount of paperwork (which we have no alloted time to actually complete so is usually done during our lunch break or at nap time) that needs filling in per child, pre and post activity, I think would shock you. All of this requires actual learned knowledge of the EYFS.

That's just planning activities. I won't go into recognising SEN, early intervention, working with socially vulnerable children, children in care etc.

Childcare workers go to work everyday willing to put the lives of the children in their care before their own. We are doing everything we can to help parents give their children the best start in life and that requires knowledge, training and the qualifications to back it up.

Oh and ratios should not be messed with. Have a bit of common sense on that issue.

Reduce the ratio at quiter times how can they do that when they work in shifts already for the quite times 1 starts at 730 finish at 430 one at 8 finish at 5 etc they are running on skeleton staff as it is!! More training yay great but when do we do that? You get promised time out todo it but then their is no staff to cover you plus working full time plus got our own dc to take care off once finish alongside all the extra training we have todo safeguarding etc which we don't get payed for, better pay yay but when will it happen we've NEVER been off min wage. Fact is it's hard work and crap pay and unless it changes their will be even less nursery workers I certainly wouldn't encourage anyone todo it and I do it myself.
