And ask ourselves what that says about us and our unconscious, that we persecute the truly innocent, chosen ones.

Forgive me father, for I know not what I do.🙏🙏🙏

To be fair, his socials were getting too close to the truth. ‘The elites’ had no choice but to come for him.
Poor little lamb indeed

MistyBay · 20/09/2023 21:18

To be honest, RB was a heroine addict. I expect now he’s spent years in self reflection and rehab he DOES feel different. And he is now late 40s and so has obviously had to grow up a bit and learned life’s lessons. But you reap what you sow.

21ZIGGY · 20/09/2023 21:20

Omg this is next level. I love a troll post

Messyhair321 · 20/09/2023 21:21

Christ. People need to stop wallowing in this because the way it's being dealt with helps no-one. There's more important issues going on that should be news.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 20/09/2023 21:21

LetMeEnfoldYou · 20/09/2023 21:11

Totally @GonnaGetGoingReturns I've worked for someone who is a bit like this, and he's the worst cunt I've had the misfortune to deal with. Men who are constantly on transmit are incapable of listening to others and understanding that they have feelings and interior lives of their own.

Absolute and total narcissism.

The one person I know who’s like this is a small time criminal. I was told by DM who’s related to this person through marriage that he did appalling things which I’ve since found out are lies. So yes, a lot of what they say is hot air. But his ex wife is my aunt and she’s living in another country, had to get the police involved as he threatened to kill her etc and so that’s why I say these people are generally wordsmiths, arseholes etc but occasionally you never know if they will carry out their threats and that is why they’re dangerous.

In RB’s case though I think as he’s proven with the women accusing him of assault/rape etc, he just sets his lawyers on them. So he is full of hot air. And a narcissistic arsehole to boot.

21ZIGGY · 20/09/2023 21:22

. And he might not rape anyone in the future.

If this isnt a rerference, i dont know what is

Stoic123 · 20/09/2023 21:04

Can anyone explain what he meant by this: "Most of my life has been an extension of the grandiose idea of what glamour would look like if it had to have a kitchen" (Russell Brand, Guardian)?

Wondering if I'm missing something.

Edited

Doesn't that just me that he tries to be glamorous even in the mundanity of normal life? That'd be my reading of it, but- to quote a very wise comic- I can't pretend to be much of a judge of poetry. I'm an English teacher, not a homosexual.

Fuck, you're gullible aren't you?

Duh

SpudleyLass · 20/09/2023 21:24

The annoying prick has been taken down, so thank heavens for big mercies.

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 20/09/2023 21:24

Well I guess it shows just how poor my opinion of human beings is when I did briefly think you were serious. Thanks for the laugh, sometimes it's needed 😀

He had to get his arse in gear cos in 2017 he was bankrupt by various means.

So he married a rich woman, had kids, became a new age hippy guru and made millions plus gained a lot of followers.

He had to do something to save himself at his age, or he’d have gone back to drugs/drink/rehab and maybe be dead (sadly not the latter mores the pity).

@TooBigForMyBoots
No, that's not how it should be done! You have no right to tell victims, of any crime, 'not to dwell on it'. They are entitled to seek prosecution and also publicly condemn those who have harmed them.

Whoosh...

I am enjoying his downfall I must say, he has always been a disgusting creep.

It's questionable that this comes across as 'a laugh' imho.

Stoic123 · 20/09/2023 21:29

@YokoOnosBigHat - yes, that does make some sense I suppose (thank you) but really just a load of flowery and verbose guff.

I imagine he practices lines like that in front of a mirror.

meditated · 20/09/2023 21:31

I also watched the TikTok on mute. Looked like he's staging a breakdown. Being sectioned might be more appealing than being convicted...

I remember reading a chapter on 'how to start your own religion' in a book (same author as The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F). Sounded pretty easy as long as you have the audience. And he had the audience because of the 'establishment' I.e. mainstream media that he now preaches against.

Watching him urinate on the pavement while on camera at the beginning of the Dispatchers programme made me question the people who decided this is the 'talent' they are going to give a platform to. They should, imo, take some responsibility for giving this messed up person such a large audience.

Channellingsophistication · 20/09/2023 21:32

Well, he’s right about one thing. We need to be conscious in the moment now and right now I think his numbers up…

letthemalldoone · 20/09/2023 21:33

SpudleyLass · 20/09/2023 20:04

He is a POS. And I'm celebrating his downfall

Same! It's been a long time coming!

pythongreenporsche · 20/09/2023 21:34

Erm, lol??

Cleaningismycardio · 20/09/2023 21:34

Sorry - my post was in response to Joolsin, but the quote didn't appear. Joolsin said they couldn't decide whether he was thick as mince or frighteningly intelligent - I don't think he is as thick as mince. I didn't mean frighteningly intelligent as in he is cerebral or an intellectual (maybe I should have left out the frighteningly!) However, I do think the level of manipulation Brand has used does indicate a degree of intelligence. If you compare him with someone like Trump, who isn't that bright but is also facing accusations of abusive and narcissistic behaviour, they conduct themselves very differently. Someone who is a bully and aggressive is very very scary. Someone who is a bully, aggressive but who is also bright can be far more dangerous. To dismiss Brand as thick fails to acknowledge the calculated way he has gone about his abuse and subsequent response. His wording in his initial denial, for example - he states his relationships were all consensual. The relationships themselves may have been (granted this does not include the grooming element revealed in the documentary) but it appears many of the acts he committed once he was in those relationships were not. Verbose, yes. But I also think he thinks and plans.

I think mocking him and his utterly ridiculous 'defence' is perfectly fair.

Nobody is laughing about the abuse he inflicted.

I think that's an excellent distinction, and important to make.

I entirely agree that mocking him is a) entirely justified b) perfectly reasonable.

Well that TikTok's made everything ok.

We can all unclutch our pearls.

He just needed to add a halo filter to make that video perfect....
