You will be able to find out the size of his school by going to the school website - it is usually on the admissions page.

The teachers' pay scales are available on the union websites and he will be on the leadership pay spine. If he is a head teacher, he will not be at the bottom of the pay spine - as a pp said, that is for assistant headteachers.

To give an idea, a perfectly normal sized 11-18 would be 150-200 per year group,

600 unit scores at KS3 = 5400
400 at KS4 = 4400
400 at KS5 = 5200

Giving a total unit total of 15000. This puts him into Group 2, rest of England.

Shit, edit not working. Typo. Group 7.

If he works at an academy they have to publish their financial information on their website. This might include information on the top paid members of staff.

The secondary my youngest has just left, hasn't long replaced their head. Pay range £80k to £100k.

Purplewarrior · 17/09/2023 13:29

I was HOD five years ago on £53k.

No way is a secondary HT on £40k. Get CMS involved and they will be able to demand payslips etc

ConsuelaHammock · 17/09/2023 13:45

He’s lying. UPS3 in NI is £43k and we didn’t get the 6.5 % raise.

ConsuelaHammock · 17/09/2023 13:46

Ask to see his P60 end of year certificate for last year.

I was earning over £40k as an assistant HT, but that was fifteen years ago!

I earned over £40k as a deputy head of an 11-18 secondary TWENTY years ago!

His pants are so much on fire.

coronafiona · 17/09/2023 15:38

about 100k

Starseeking · 17/09/2023 17:05

Sounds like he's trying to get out of paying maintenance.

He must be on at least £60k if it's any kind of decent sized secondary school, and possibly more.

DahliaMacNamara · 17/09/2023 17:14

Is he fuck on forty k, not unless he's gone part time.

I was on more than 70K as a secondary head of an average sized, 11-16 school 17 years ago...
