To think neighbours shouldn't be playing music all day in the garden

Hear me out, I'm not exactly frothing at the mouth, but I do think it's rather inconsiderate of the neighbours to do be doing this.
We all live practically on top of each other on this street - small terraced houses with gardens right next to each other. Neighbour plays her music loud enough for me to hear inside my house, in her back garden.
AIBU to be a bit irritated at this? I'm grateful it's quite classy music at least - I'd be asking her to put in earphones if it was drill Grin I'm just surprised at her more than anything, I'd be embarrassed for my neighbours to know my music taste!

New neighbours behind us have a toddler and a baby and most days normal childrens noise doesnt bother me but occasionally they have another family or 2 round to their small garden and the noise is unbearable, loud performance parenting and a twat dad who chases the toddlers screaming at the top of his voice amd making them scream like banshees.

What makes it worse is instead of putting their patio beside their door they put it at the end of their garden right next to our hedge so I also have to listen to inane chat from the parents in the seconds their precious darlings stop screaming to draw breath.

On those days i play music quite loudly to drown it all out. I hope they start to put 2 and 2 together before I have to resort to something else.

They won't. It's just a race to the bottom, with everything getting more and more unbearable for everyone around the two antisocial households. Be an adult and ask them to keep it down a bit if it's really bad - don't escalate it.

My dh and l fall out over this all the time - he plays his music quite loudly sometimes and l worry about the neighbours but their dogs do bark constantly so he says that's inconsiderate to us.
The other side plays loud reggae frequently which is fine and makes me chuckle when he sings along

To me, this is just part and parcel of living in anything but a detached house. I live in a semi-detached and used to live in a mid terrace and you just have to get used to living around other people. I don't think you/I can really tell other people how to live their lives or what noise they're allowed to make, within the general limits of 9am-9pm (roughly).

I play music in the garden, as does my neighbour. I also play several musical instruments. It's just how it is.

People shouldn't be demanding silence from their neighbours.

@gidabo so why is it ok that I have to be woken up by screeching kids at 7am then? Because that's just 'life noise?'

My music is my life noise.

🎶👏👏👏👏👏🎵

Why not go and tell her that her music is far too loud?

If she doesn't turn it down then beat her at her own game. Bagpipe music is very annoying.

Woah, calm down Satan!

I’m not a fan of it. Our NDN had his radio on all day yesterday and I was out in the garden doing some planting, DH doing whatever he gets up to and the kids were in and out. I try and remember that we —the kids— make a fair bit of noise which may annoy him. The radio was on a decent station though so I was singing along and he hosed down my car after cleaning his drive and getting dust on it. So, it’s just one of those things. Every weekend I’d be pissed off but one or two days a month I can’t be bothered to get wound up about.

Our horrible drunk of a neighbour does this. Sits in the sun guzzling red wine and puts his music on very loud.

For me it's just chavvy antisocial behaviour.

dear god

I think @gidabo needs some loops or noise cancelling headphones.
You can’t avoid music everywhere so they must be regularly feeling tortured!
