To not share my pizza?

GoudaMozzarella · 09/09/2023 19:33

Every time we have homemade pizza, DP eats his faster than me and then wants a slice of mine (he always thinks I won't eat it all). Am I being unreasonable to say no? He knows how much I love my pizza. After he sulked when I said no tonight, I did relent and offer him a piece since I wasn't going to finish it but he said he didn't want it anymore and said he's taking the moral highground.
I told him I'm taking it to mumsnet and he told me that I am "going to get battered by the mums". Am I being unreasonable to want to keep my pizza for myself?

GoudaMozzarella's partner - you're a cheeky fucker!

Greed and being a sulky cunt are not attractive traits, just you remember that!

LazyLadyLately · 09/09/2023 21:03

There is no moral high ground to bullying a women for pizza she hasn't yet discarded.

Sit quietly and wait.

INeedAnotherName · 09/09/2023 21:04

Does he do the same to his work colleagues at lunch time or friends when they go out? Does he swig their beer too?

Of course he fucking doesn't. He's being a domineering areshole. I mean, he can't even wait until you are finished before trying it on. That's not just greed.

I hope you feel very ashamed of yourself OPs husband, and give OP a massive apology.

UsernameNotAvailableArghh · 09/09/2023 21:04

So he’s stupid and a greedy bastard? You’ve got a catch there!

Thegoodbadandugly · 09/09/2023 21:04

You both sound about the age of 5, him for nicking your pizza and you for telling him your running onto a parenting forum to tell everyone, maybe you should both grow up.

Americano75 · 09/09/2023 21:05

Nice try gutsy, keep your hands to yourself!

Hawkins0009 · 09/09/2023 21:07

@GoudaMozzarella
your pizza your rules.
if he wants more then why not make more ?
the highroad would be him respecting your wishes to begin with

Blough · 09/09/2023 21:10

Hi OPs husband, I’m not a mum and I too think you’re an embarrassing, domineering glutton. 😊. From one glutton to another.

SillyBillyMother · 09/09/2023 21:12

My dh used to steal my food, which he didn't think I'd eat, all the time. I've needed to be very firm over the years, but he doesn't do it anymore.

Obvs YANBU. He can have your food once you have told him you don't want it, but he shouldn't even be asking for your food.

WaltzingWaters · 09/09/2023 21:12

No, YANBU! My partner does this too as he gulps stuff down and I eat slowly and enjoy it.

FictionalCharacter · 09/09/2023 21:16

JustAnotherUsey · 09/09/2023 19:40

It's more the greedy eyes on your food when theirs is finished. Hate that

Yep. I'm a slow eater and I bloody hate it when anyone eyes up my food or tries to steal it after they've wolfed theirs down.

Thatladdo · 09/09/2023 21:18

Cough all over it, problem gone.

diddl · 09/09/2023 21:20

So it's a case of "what's yours is mine & what's mine is my own" as far as he is concerned?

What's he babbling on about "moral high ground" for?

It's bloody pizza!

DelurkingLawyer · 09/09/2023 21:33

He can fuck off, the greedy shite. Greed in a man is the least sexy, most off-putting attribute ever.

Hellofromtheotherslide · 09/09/2023 21:35

Ditch the sulking child and keep the pizza. The dog is not allowed to eye up my food when I'm eating, like fuck would allow a person to do it. Rude behaviour.

Sallyh87 · 09/09/2023 21:41

I’m getting small pizza energy from him

PinkArt · 09/09/2023 21:42

Quite the victim complex he's got there! If he's still hungry he could eat that chip on his shoulder.

BrightGreenMoonBuggy · 09/09/2023 21:43

He’s being selfish. If you offer it to him when you’re full, that’s fine. What’s not okay is him gobbling his then eyeing up yours and sulking like a child about not getting yours too.

ihadamarveloustime · 09/09/2023 21:49

My leftover pizza would be my lunch the following day.

YANBU

CleptoCleoCookoo · 09/09/2023 21:51

when I said no tonight, I did relent and offer him a piece since I wasn't going to finish it

Sooo, he's right then?

You weren't going to finish it, said no, then yes?

Confusing signals. From you.

LimeCheesecake · 09/09/2023 21:57

@CleptoCleoCookoo - once she’d decided she’d finished and eaten enough, she offered him to finish her left overs, that’s rather different to him deciding “that’s too much food for you” (although the same amount he’d had and wasn’t enough for him) and deciding for her how much she’d eat before being full.

you wait for the person eating to decide they’ve had enough. Even if normally they won’t eat it all, you allow for them having a “hungry” evening. If you know in advance once pizza won’t be enough for you, look at adding sides. Don’t assume you can eat all of one pizza and a portion of your dining partner’s one.

pizzaHeart · 09/09/2023 21:59

Of course he is wrong - you have your portion, he has his. If it’s not enough food for him he can make himself a salad or something else or make himself a bigger pizza.
He need to accept that he wants eat more rather then to pretend helping you to get rid of leftovers.

Womblegreen · 09/09/2023 22:16

Nope. You each have your own. DH needs to savour his food!

When we have homemade pizza we have 1 each and individual leftovers go on separate plates in the fridge. Even as leftovers they are not for sharing!

iamwhatiam23 · 09/09/2023 22:24

No YANBU! Hes a greedy pig!

shams05 · 09/09/2023 22:25

Dh does something similar when we have the rare takeaway, I'll have taken a couple of bites then realise my pizza slice has gone!
I was distracted by the youngest arguing over a piece of pepper on her slice and for a while thought I'd eaten it and not realised.
When it happened again with the second slice eldest DD pointed out to her dad that it wasn't his slice and there was plenty in the box. His defence was he didn't want a whole slice, only one bite!
