To complain about my wonky eyebrows?

motcar · 09/09/2023 17:31

I have went to the same woman for years for a thread and tint. This has happened once before and I haven't said anything. But after getting my eyebrows done today, I have noticed that one is shorter than the other and that they are both different shapes.

I am going to go elsewhere from now on but is it worth saying anything to her? I am so upset as feel they are a total uneven mess.

Although one of your brows is naturally higher, I don’t think it’s as drastic as it looks in your pics, as your head is tilted in them all.

in this pic I’ve added straight lines and then lined the pics up so your face is dead straight (lines going through your pupils) now you can see that the brows are definitely in the same places, but your higher one is not so drastic as it appears in some of your pics!

maybe tilt your head the other way in photos? 😀 I don’t know, I’m not a brow tech, but I don’t think your lady has done a bad job at all and if you asked her next time if there’s anything she could do to make them appear more symmetrical she may have some ideas. BUT thats not your natural look! You have very pretty eyes and eyebrows and tbh I would not mess with the positioning if I were you as you might hate it more!

Thanks for this. I see what you're saying

OP, for what it's worth I don't think they look horrendous at all. They are lovely and neat. One is very slightly higher than the other, but most people won't even notice.

Thank you and I hope not!

Big sunglasses.

I'm so sorry you must feel so self conscious. I'd do what another PP said and said a photo with your message as it's obvious she's made a mistake.
I sincerely hope you can get something sorted with them, it's horrible when something like this happens.

WestendVBroadway · 09/09/2023 19:08

With the greatest respect, if she has tinted your eyebrows then the tint is only highlighting what was already there. So your eyebrows must have been like that before. As someone else already said ' Eyebrows are supposed to be sisters, not twins' so are rarely symmetrical.

FakeFool · 09/09/2023 19:15

Have you a photo from before Botox? I'm wondering if that's made your eyebrows uneven

GoldenSpangles · 09/09/2023 19:21

I am fairly sure your eyebrows are uneven because of botox. One side has had too much botox so your eyebrow is shooting up on one side. Don't ask me how I know this. I now don't go above the eye when having crows feet done and only have the frown lines in the middle of my forehead corrected.

ShyTed · 09/09/2023 19:21

Brows can be un-symmetrical for lots of reasons -
-natural bone structure
-more expressionite on one side so the muscles have gotten stronger on one side
-sleeping on one particular side

it may be possible to slightly even them over time but u need to chat to your brow tech to see if she can help first. Ask her if she can map for (if she does this) you to see clearly the differences and if she can make any careful tweaks. The main difficulty in evening them up would be the risk of ending up with one skinny one!

Also, just to say - no one else will be looking that closely at your eyebrows. You’re paranoid about them so checking them through a microscope. No one else will even notice xx

ShyTed · 09/09/2023 19:23

Oh did I miss a post where the OP has had Botox? If so then it could also be this, highlighting a pre existing difference.

also not sure if this is relevant but may be useful to someone - brows should only be done 2 weeks after Botox to allow the Botox to fully settle

Just keep repeating “they’re sisters, not twins” until they grow!!

SD1978 · 09/09/2023 19:35

Ok- I'm going to go a little against the grain.....the before photo you posted also has 2 completely different types and shapes of eyebrows- with one quite markedly higher (although that's probably juts because they are a close up. Both of them independently look nice, and have been tidied up, but they already looked quite quizzical with different shapes and height? It's the tint that seems to make it stand out more.

JudgeRudy · 09/09/2023 19:51

It seems to me that one eyebrow (your right) is slightly too short, like she's taken too much away from the nose side. The rest looks OK though considering your own eyebrows arent identical. My daughter says eyebrows should look like sisters not twins. Yours look like cousins.

dooneyousmugelf · 09/09/2023 19:55

She did ok. She went a bit hard on the 'bulb' end of your right brow, bringing it too far in. Softly touch it up with a brow pencil and it will make the difference.

(Your brows can't be changed from their natural positioning- I think you're seeing a 'problem' which isn't there)

I doubt it. Grin Sorry OP but what do you think could be done? Botox or cosmetic surgery?

Few models have equal faces. Amber Heard and Bella Hadid have the most symmetrical faces. The rest of us peasants (normal people) ...... Or me who looks like a troll! Wink

Oblomov23 · 09/09/2023 20:04

Oh. You've had Botox? I missed that. Are you sure that isn't where you went wrong? Maybe it's made it worse? What did they look like before Botox?

sageandrosemary · 09/09/2023 20:06

They looked far more symmetrical before the botox! Did you not notice the asymmetry after having that?!

Abbimae · 09/09/2023 20:11

This looks like Botox spocking I don’t understand how a eyebrow treatment did this? What did she do?

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 20:11

You are far too young to have Botox!

Abbimae · 09/09/2023 20:12

Just read a post you had Botox? This is spocking! Need a few units to even out

MiniCooperLover · 09/09/2023 20:14

My eyebrows do the same, no Botox, just one over the other. It's been suggested I get Botox to even then out, I'm not bothered

Favouritefruits · 09/09/2023 20:17

You’ve got a nice face so doubt anyone will notice your eyebrows but what I will say is don’t go anywhere that shapes the top of the brow, that’s your natural shape and anything will look odd, it looks like you have had the top altered and it’s never grown back as it should so now you have wonky eyebrows.

Eyebrows should be sisters, not twins

I was going to say this

HobbiddoH · 09/09/2023 22:13

You look like this emoji 🤨
ha ha, I jest. I know what you mean but I don’t think they look that bad. My main issue as others have said is she’s taken too much off at one end on one side. I reckon you could add some eyebrow makeup to fill in that gap, and maybe to the underside of the arch on one side and the upper side of the arch on the other to see if that evens them out at all.
I think you should message your eyebrow lady and say looking at them when you’ve got home you’re not happy with how uneven they seem and is there anything she can do or recommend to make them more even as you don’t feel very happy with how they are right now.
