To complain about my wonky eyebrows?

motcar · 09/09/2023 17:31

I have went to the same woman for years for a thread and tint. This has happened once before and I haven't said anything. But after getting my eyebrows done today, I have noticed that one is shorter than the other and that they are both different shapes.

I am going to go elsewhere from now on but is it worth saying anything to her? I am so upset as feel they are a total uneven mess.

I'm sorry -

A red cape and a moustache and you'd be a dead ringer for Emperor Ming!

Seriously, one is ok the other is awful. I don't what they could do to rectify it though?

SM4713 · 09/09/2023 18:18

Hopefully they grow back and you can go elsewhere, or just pluck them yourself going forward. To me, in addition to the uneven browns, they look unnaturally too far apart- like the inner parts have been overplucked. 😬

I have had this happen one looked different to the other I did say something and she fixed it !
But the next time I went (I have threading )
she completely left me with thin shorts brows I was so pissed off because I have alaways had a thick straight brow ! Even my hubbi commented saying where are your eyebrows??
so what I do now is draw a straight line underneath then do tail I don’t have hardly any arch then pluck any stray hairs under the line then tint I hardly touch above the brow and recently been laminated them myself I have had soooo many compliments on my brows ! And I’m now being roped into doing my daughters

leave them if u don’t wanna lose anymore hair for a while and do them yourself xxx

wheelywheelynice · 09/09/2023 18:28

Eyebrows should be sisters, not twins

EvilElsa · 09/09/2023 18:29

Oh gosh OP! They are totally pissed (as it looks like the eyebrow tech was when she did them!).
I think I'd have a go at a bit of an even up myself or book in with someone else and see if they could do their best. Other than that it's a grow out situation. You could probably do a make up job with eyebrow cover up, concealer and pencil but it may just look better to not draw attention to them. Don't worry about it, most people won't even notice.

Oblomov23 · 09/09/2023 18:31

The pre picture shows that even before, your eyebrows are quite different shapes, naturally.

AcclimDD · 09/09/2023 18:35

Same as Oblomov
OP your particular eyebrows are not symmetrical unfortunately; so the darker dye just accentuates the anatomical reality.
They look neater than before.

ShyTed · 09/09/2023 18:42

I am a brow artist and educator.
by looking at all photos
1 - looks fine
2 - a really strange photo - almost looks distorted
3 - your natural brows have quite a lot of differences which may become more apparent after treatment as they are sharpened and defined. As a brow tech I always make my client aware of differences in their brows that I notice during mapping and reassure them that it is completely normal!

you say you’ve been going to this girl a while - do you go often? Does she map your brows?
i personally would prefer if my client (especially a long term one) wasn’t happy so I could help to fix the issue. It would really upset me if a long term client just disappeared and I didn’t know why.

PS - no one has totally symmetrical brows. I have some clients with really different ones and we just have to work with what the client has got and manage their expectations!

Thanks for this. Yes about 8 years I've been going to her. She never maps my eyebrows, just goes straight in.

And you can't see they are just as different in the before picture?

After they are darker and shaped more but she has followed your natural brow.

CurlsLDN · 09/09/2023 18:48

Looking at your before and after pics together they look exactly the same, but tidier after. You have one naturally higher than the other.
What don’t you like about them?

I don't like that one is higher than the other. Even if it's natural for me, is there anything I can do about it?

Your eyebrows look different from each other in the before photo.

MonumentalLentil · 09/09/2023 18:54

They look the same as the 'before' photo in shape and height.

The second photo in your OP looks as if you are raising the eyebrow on the left, the skin fold above your eye is stretched out.

I don't think there is anything different in the shape and position.

Nopenopenopenopenopenope · 09/09/2023 18:56

Doesn't look that bad to me. Eyebrows and faces aren't symmetrical anyway.

Snittle · 09/09/2023 18:56

I was a bit shocked, but now I’ve seen your before picture they do look better/tidier than before. I don’t see how they could’ve been done better, but the differences are more pronounced now your brows look “done” as they look like they’ve been done unevenly, whereas before it was more of a natural unevenness which isn’t quite as stark.

motcar · 09/09/2023 18:57

So have I just to walk around like this?

OP posts:
CurlsLDN · 09/09/2023 18:57

Although one of your brows is naturally higher, I don’t think it’s as drastic as it looks in your pics, as your head is tilted in them all.

in this pic I’ve added straight lines and then lined the pics up so your face is dead straight (lines going through your pupils) now you can see that the brows are definitely in the same places, but your higher one is not so drastic as it appears in some of your pics!

maybe tilt your head the other way in photos? 😀 I don’t know, I’m not a brow tech, but I don’t think your lady has done a bad job at all and if you asked her next time if there’s anything she could do to make them appear more symmetrical she may have some ideas. BUT thats not your natural look! You have very pretty eyes and eyebrows and tbh I would not mess with the positioning if I were you as you might hate it more!

Botox can help even out your brows if they are naturally uneven

diddl · 09/09/2023 18:59

Oh dear-all these posters saying that they look horrendous when it's obvious that Op's eyebrows like many other people's eyebrows aren't symmetrical.

Yarnysaurus · 09/09/2023 19:00

motcar · 09/09/2023 18:57

So have I just to walk around like this?

As they are your actual eyebrows, yeah.

Or you could shave them off for symmetry.

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 09/09/2023 19:02

OP, for what it's worth I don't think they look horrendous at all. They are lovely and neat. One is very slightly higher than the other, but most people won't even notice.
