My neighbours are a pain but this is bat shit it was bin day today only cardboard recycling and garden/food waste.
The female came out about 10.20pm and started jet washing the bins?! Who does that in the week.
Im already slightly annoyed as their dog has been howling all day, She works term time school hours so the poor dog has got used to her being home.I know it’s not the dogs fault or there’s really but both things in one day.
am I right in thinking the jet washing the bins including spraying them copiously and using a brush to scrub them is really strange?

If it's unusually hot, I would guess she found maggots and it freaked her out.

Boiling water to kill maggots I could understand but jet washing would just indiscriminately scatter the maggots with force all over your driveway you and the gardens.

Tip a kettle in then deal with anything else in the morning at a more reasonable time

@TheNightTroll
whats with the spam posts? Perfectly ordinary question i asked?
She leaves for work 8.30am maybe she has some kind of phobia etc but like a pp said boiling water and deal in the morning or after work.
A murder now that would be something to talk about in the close!

It's not yours specifically, they or them are being an ass, on other threads too

Best to ignore bell-ends like this.

I've reported them @Dinojump

I was saying on another thread (where they're also spamming) that the irony is that they're creating more work for the night watch. Stupid way to make a point.

Pretty sure that they are not trying to make a point, they are just being a twat cos they think they are funny.

It's the heat. It gets to some people.

Emz6103 · 07/09/2023 00:09

Lol ikr what's the deal? I had an enormous spider in my son's bedroom the other night, he'd 16 but it really freaked him out!! Wonder why they're so big this year. Didn't know they don't like mint oil, maybe I'll put some in my atomiser

Emz6103 · 07/09/2023 00:13

Yeah just said the same thing, saw the biggest one I've ever seen the other night big massive black one. Wonder why they e gotten so big this year?

greenspaces4peace · 07/09/2023 00:22

are you jealous @Bagpuss2022 ? that she has the time or energy and you don't.
you know who she is, she's your neighbor and likes a clean bin.
be grateful it's not stinking and overflowing.

AvocadotoastORahouse · 07/09/2023 00:46

Wouldn't bother me at all but here I am wide awake at 00:45 on Mumsnet so 10pm is early doors to me 🦉

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 07/09/2023 02:11

I say good on them. Better than allowing bins to fester in the heat.

fairydust11 · 07/09/2023 08:08

@Whatswhatwhichiswhich Yes I read about peppermint oil a few weeks ago (as no conkers by me yet) & then ordered some to mix with water. I’d only been spraying downstairs then saw a huge one upstairs last night. Therefore sprayed down the whole house 😂🫣.

CherryCokeFanatic · 07/09/2023 08:16

if it happens again maybe you could go out to the female and express your frustration and ask if it’s possible she does it another day, earlier in the evening

goingtotown · 07/09/2023 08:26

Probably maggots in the bin.

gogomoto · 07/09/2023 08:29

I'm saying not unreasonable because personally I went to work, got home, made dinner for all then went straight back out until 10 ... if my bin was stinky the earliest I could have cleaned it would be 10.10! (Actually I never clean mine as I'm terrible at chores)
