WHY ARE YOU NOT EMBARRASSED??

Why do people not check and double check the original post before adding a scolding reply which makes them look really silly, when the answer is right FKING there? Honestly, should we take a breath, a moment to consider if we are not going to look really twattish by letting our angry little fingers type stupid responses?

It almost makes so much sense why society fails so spectacularly when people are so confident in being loud and wrong.

I already know that I have made several errors in this post, and I fully expect to be pulled up on them because of murphrys law 🤭.

God it’s a forum. It’s not that deep.

CakeForAll21 · 27/08/2023 22:28

@Screamingabdabz

You fell right for it??? 😂

Ofcourseshecan · 27/08/2023 21:13

Er, that’ll be Murphy’s Law, OP. 😀(And I mistyped that myself the first time.)

But I agree with your point. Also, people only have to click on ‘See all’ to read all an OP’s posts in the thread, so they don’t need to ignore OP’s updates and replies to PPs’ questions.

The trouble is that some people use the Android app. Until I deleted it in disgust at just how crap it was, it didn't have a see all option (this may have changed in the last six months, I'm not downloading it again to find out). It also didn't allow you to enlarge text to have the slightest chance of reading the miniscule font that dates of posts are displayed in, so you'd get grief for not checking that - and it would frequently not load all of the posts, so you'd miss any updates.

A crap app isn't the fault of the users, but they'd cop it for the consequences.

Don't 🤣 please god no.

I'm sorry but you've just made my day. Seriously though, I also can't believe the vitriol from some people on here. I just ignore them if I get started on, got called thick earlier but didn't even bother responding, it just makes them worse. 🙄

It's Murphy's

Best. Thread. Ever

God it’s a forum. It’s not that deep.

It shouldn't be, it was supposed to be a light hearted rant and it grew into an existential crisis and a bit of a laugh.

Dear God!

Yup, but it made me laugh🤣

Bbq1 · 27/08/2023 22:34

Yes, people saying ridiculous things eg: your children are 6 and 8 they should be capable of doing xyz by themselves by now. This will usually be related to something way beyond the capabilites of a child thst age. Back in the real world nobody would expect thw child to do said task.

Fallingthroughclouds · 27/08/2023 22:36

CakeForAll21 · 27/08/2023 22:25

@Tiredalwaystired @FuckingHellAdele @Fallingthroughclouds

I think I found you....

The biggest give away is when you ask for like career advice and they say when I graduated in 1982 I applied for a top job and got it so maybe you are lazy and need to work harder.

Or where they say things like does one not send children to grandma's house instead of paying expensive nursery bills. Well great but I had to move to get these so called easy top jobs and now grandma is 100s of miles away so... or telling me how much nursey was in like 1996.

Fyi i would expect mums net to be full of 20 somethings as I thought it was for parents to share similar experiences these womens kids would have been adults when mums net was created so how did they end up here??

You're ranting.

YANBU

I was reading a thread about a cat earlier and someone made an utter tit of themselves, due to posting without reading 🤗😂

1ittlegreen · 27/08/2023 22:37

@CakeForAll21

I had my first at 36. I don't really know anyone who had a baby in their 20s.

Mumsnet has always been for all mums and carers, the beauty is you get people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Ffsjustltb · 27/08/2023 22:37

I have read the full thread and you're all fucking insane.

I read that one 😂 I don't know what they'd read but it definitely wasn't the op

Ollifer · 27/08/2023 22:39

Oh god. I was literally so depressed and low until reading this thread. This is bloody hilarious

Indoorcatmum · 27/08/2023 22:40

Hahahahaha who else is getting nostalgic feelings from this thread? It feels like Mumsnet of old for some reason 😂

ItsNotRocketSalad · 27/08/2023 22:41

Doingtheboxerbeat · 27/08/2023 22:25

The word is Murphrys, similar to Murphy's which means that...if you read the thread, you would know what it meant, which illustrates my point.

You're still getting it wrong even though it's been explained to you several times. Why are you not embarrassed?

Murphryrules · 27/08/2023 22:42

This is great. Maybe you could start a new thread discussing Hartmans Law and see how well that goes 😂
Hartman's law of prescriptivist retaliation: "Any article or statement about correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling is bound to contain at least one eror ." Named after editor and writer Jed Hartman.

I love this thread.

TeacheeTeacherson · 27/08/2023 22:42

I actually can’t tell which posters are joking here… 😂😂😂

Sorry, Muphrys because my phone hates me - for good reason obviously.

CakeForAll21 · 27/08/2023 22:44

@1ittlegreen

First at 29 so I here you but I just hope I am not saying one should have worked harder to be a stay at home mother if nursey fees cost so much. I still do not get why I need to know what nursey fees were 30 years ago.

I love the diverse career options but being told to work harder as they made in the 80s is a bit crazy.

maimeo · 27/08/2023 22:44

Not to be confused with Murphy's laww^.
Muphry's law is an adage that states: "If you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written."[1] The name is a deliberate misspelling of "Murphy's law".

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/08/2023 22:45

Was the cat called Murphy?

No but he's very old so we shouldn't be talking about him here. This is only for young cats.
