Is Jenni Hermoso the turning point?

Although I was disappointed that the Lionesses did not win the Women's World Cup I am in awe of Jenni and the unfolding situation in Spain.

I truly think she is inspirational for so many women/girls and has taken time out to re-think her initial acceptance of an abusive situation and then come out to say "she was pressurised to diminish the abuse she felt"

It is a fascinating story unravelling there:

Jenni Hermoso ‘did not consent’ to be kissed by Rubiales

Spain forward rejects FA chief’s claims as ‘categorically false’ as the national women’s team refuses to play until he resigns

Oh well done @Standingchair1 and she was wearing clothing designed to provoke any red blooded bloke into a frenzy. I definitely saw bare legs. What's a man to do?

I hope we are at a turning point but given the number of people saying it’s only a kiss, it’s an overreaction, it was just excitement in the moment I’m not holding my breath.

Frankly I think this man’s behaviour was disgusting. I’m usually pretty in control if my feelings but I’ve been so angry to see how the team have been treated. These fabulous women played for their country and brought home the trophy and to see them disrespected like this is appalling. The Spanish FA are a fucking disgrace and I at least hope the media coverage ensures that are forced to accept and acknowledge their failings publicly (even though I don’t think it will make a jot of difference privately).

You think she's brave but at the same time can't face the misogynistic comments so you're avoiding them.

Be brave like the woman you admire are. go for it. They're only comments.

Apparently it's not a true quote but it's appropriate "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good women to do nothing"

But women don’t have a duty to read misogynistic comments posted by trolls online. Do you expect people of colour to read racist trolling? LGBT people to read homophobic/transphobic content?
