the dog was my babysitter (i kid Not)my mammy a fan of freezing bracing scottish howlinng wind used to sit me in the buggy in the garden, whilst she did the house work. the dog was apparently so loyal at guarding me that it growled if anyone came too close. mum said the neighbours did not know what i looked like til i walked, as dog wouldn't let anyone near to peep in

My ex boyfriends dog was his babysitter too his dad and stepmum said if they wanted him the shouted the dog.

Once when his mum nipped to the shops leaving him sleeping in his pram with his unlce watching him, gone 5 minutes came back to her brother (the uncle) trapped in the corner with the dog growling at him and ex bf in his pram gurgling away. Apparently baby had started whipering, uncle gone to pram to check on him and dog had taken umbridge at this and held him off until mummy came back.

Trust your kids. I was bitten by 3 differnt dogs when little. Each time the owner said I must have been tormenting the dog (one was my aunt's dog and it bit me across teh face!). I was not tormenting them, I was simply playing with them or trying to coax them to do something. If there is a mark on your childs arm, then I think you need to take action.

The dog that bit my face went on to bite numerous other children who were 'tormenting it', And to this day I have a dog phobia that I try very hard to manage so as not to pass it on to my DC.
