to be GUTTED about Andrew Ridgley?!

Love him, love Wham, loved listening to him tonight on Sounds of the 80's on R2 (the only thing worth listening to on R2 these days imo) until he confessed.....

He is a MAMIL! I cant get over the fact that my idol of the 80's has succumbed to the middle aged life of lycra and buttock burns.

Cant begin to articulate my heartbreak over this.....

Love Andrew! I think the Wham documentary was written to purposely show him in a good light though- he did take a lot of flack back in the day! Guess that was the condition of of him voicing it.

I heard him on table manners podcast recently, he was a great guest and so incredibly into food and wine. His voice was dreamy on the podcast, a bit of ASMR going on in parts, but absolutely if you didn’t know him as a party boy in the 80s you would never have guessed from his chat.

(But of course, let’s label him a twat because he was at someone’s cousin’s best friends, aunties, neighbour’s wedding and he was clearly up himself because he didn’t burst into song and dance at someone else’s wedding…)

You wouldn't think that from the wham documentary. Andrew made out like he co-wrote all the songs. I had no idea he had that much input.

I said it BECAUSE of the Wham doc. Andrew was very open about how he stepped back from songwriting because George was just getting so much better than him and he was just having fun.

Nah, the tanned thing is his heritage. Like George. I’m not English in heritage and growing up, it would have so helped me to know these two heartthrobs were also not as English as we all thought…

I knew someone who knew both of them and they were both lovely. Think he seemed so ego free and supportive of George.

I've just looked him up. Apparently he has 'lost interest in monogamy' and is in several relationships. I don't know how he finds the time what with all the cycling.

Oh FFS it was supposed to be a joke about yet another late middle aged man getting a bike.....forgot that there has been a sense of humour bypass here lately!!

Btw, I am not fat nor do I drive a 4X4!

I am a huge fan of both him and George, havent seen the doco but I do plan to at some point, and I still listen to my Wham albums, they are my feel good music. But ya know, hearing him bang on about cycling was like the day I found out that sexy bad boy (in my head anyway!) Ed Byrne's hobby is popping on the waterproofs and hiking up hills.....just killed the image a bit for me!

Try living in the country were every single weekend the villages and verges are clogged with 4x4's (ironically) driven there by men with their bikes. Not that it matters because you cant drive down the lanes anyway as great crowds of them play at "Tour de France" and pretend they are the peleton without think that they are holding up a miles worth of traffic behind them.

Had to laugh at that. I'm into trail biking and popping on the waterproofs for a hike. Would have no use for a bloke that didn't. I love a man in outdoor gear.

I only get annoyed by MAMILS when they clearly take it up to avoid parenting.

Once the kids are older or gone away, it's a great way to get fit!
